Hi I love hotpoint microtronic and microprofile
Any pics info etc would be great on these machines
I'd love to own the 9550 as I remember this model at our school in the cookery room for washing tea towels and the schools rugby and football kits it died in 1998 from being installed in 1983

I don't have any vintage models

Any help would be great on the programmes, the programme times and the options on the machines and maybe what each programme consisted of

ChanceSkyDiver/Mikey, has the MicroTronic 1000 AutoWasher 9555, I won this machine for him, via an offer made to the seller on 21st October.

When Mikey visited me back in October, I'd arranged to collect it from the seller knowing Mikey'd not long since invested in an Ovlov V70 SW, not long before me visited me.

We collected the MicroTronic on th 26th of October & brought it back to my Grandma's, where it was given minor tests after a mishap ending more thorough tests.

During the wash phase, the LCD displays the programme number, when rinses commence, it will display R1, R2, R3 or R4, dependant on which rinse's running, I think, the display reverts back to the programme number, when it's on the final spin dry phase, but I'm not totally sure.

We always used programme 5 as we had a hotpoint but just an 800 electronic
Not a lovely machine like this
My nan had a toploader LE from 1986 and either used programme 6 for everything and programme 1 for boiling whites towels and tea towels

Hi Matthew

I managed to pick up a microprofile last year for £20 and I love it. I might make it my daily driver when I finally get moved. I love the display and the way it shows the temperature going up when the programme is running the only disappointment is the 1400 spin is only for such a short time. Still its a great machine.

Hi Steve I know for the time the spin was very fast but it only lasts 10 seconds? Won't get much water out as compared to my Miele (3622WPS) which spins at 1600 for 90 seconds.
I'd love to see one in action with the temp going up and up
If I found one I'd use it as my main machine

I've always been fascinated by programmes 3, 8 & 9. Most machines didn't have 8 & 9

Oh btw, Matthew, my Servis Sapphire 1300 Washer Dryer 9635 & 9700 (pictured below) 9635 (left) 9700 (right), operate similarly to how the 9566 operated (even though the 9635 from 1989 & the 9700 from 1990), came before the MicroProfiles, so it's the other way roundreally, as the 9566 was from 1994.

My two Sapphires are built using pumps from Hoover, & motors from Hotpoint (the GEC types), so they sound Hotpoint like, even my Bosch WFT sounds Hotpoint like when it's tumbling.

The link below, shows the rinses, rinse-spins & spin dry of the Sapphire 9635, there'll be more from the 9700 when I return it home.

how rare are 9560W microprofiles?

I have a 9560W microprofile.
The model was never sold here, mine would have been imported with someone migrating from UK.

Mine no longer works - motor needs brushes, belt is missing, the door lock is dodgy and is often slow to release. I lent it to some neighbours a few years ago and it got knocked around - some of the plastic trim is chipped and cracked.

I put repaired circuit boards in it when I first got it, way back when. I had them sent out from the UK. I beleive they are still good.

I want to scrap the machine and I wonder if I should save the circuit boards in it? Ther will be no call for them here in Australia, should I hang on to them in case one of you UK guys need a set, or are they still available over there?

Also the soap dispenser drawer front is perfect, no chips. The fascia might be, I'm not sure. It is a 1300 microprofile, though the display counts up to 1400 during final spin. (Briefly and loudly...)

nice thread about the MicroProfiles, were certainly smart machines in their day and the vacuum-fluorescent display is reminiscent of some US washers lol.

The Microprofiles NEVER spun at 1300 rpm. The 9560 was just marketed as a 1300 rpm machine for reasons unknown. It could have been to make the machine look more affordable or it could have been a major marketing mistake (it can happen but this is probably not the case). Maybe Hotpoint thought that 1300 rpm appeared safer to the customer.

P.S. The only 1200 rpm Microprofile was the 9556. Until then there was the 1000 rpm Microtronics.

Hi Matthew the first Microtronic was not the 9550. In fact the Microtronic first appeared in 1980 as the Hotpoint 18780 X2000. It spun at 800 rpm but it wasn't long until the 1000 rpm version came out. Then the 95480 came out and in 1985 the short lived 9550 came out. Those spun at 1000 rpm.
