I just brought this 1980 Hotpoint oven home yesterday.  Never used, incredible shape.  I believe there is a range hood attachment that goes on top of the microwave oven unit.  Any idea how/where I could start to look for one?

My house was built in 1978 so the age of it is perfect.  Next weekend I will be installing a 1970s KDS-19 dishwasher.  Now all I need is a vintage 70s fridge and I’m good to go!

Todd!!  My next oldest sister had the GE version of this range in a Gallerea-area townhouse in Houston she bought new in 1978 or 1979. Was the photo taken in your kitchen?

Great Range And Durable MWO.

The range hoods show up fairly often on used ranges, I am sure one will show up.

Be cautious about using the metal trivets on the surface elements, If you use them you should keep the heat setting low enough that the element does not get red hot, surface elements on electric ranges are not designed to be Red-Hot for any period of time, allowing them to get RH is not only dangerous and a waste of power it also ruins the element, element receptacle drip bowl and can cause the porcelain cook-top to craze and chip.

Hi Bob,

Yes, the photo of the range was taken in my kitchen.  Thankfully when I bought the place the previous owners had taken decent care of the original kitchen tile countertops...

And the timers/clock on the stove are so cool and old-school!

Need New Thermostat

So the oven won’t heat more than 160 degrees.  Had the repairman out and he says it’s the thermostat.  Anyone have a lead on one?  He says it would be best to replace both switches.

Thanks and hope to get this bad boy back in full service!
