I just purchased a new Hotpoint washer mfg by GE. I noticed that there is no fill and agate during the rinse cycle, it just spins and sprays some water in.

I've noticed that there is a phone connector on the back of the control panel. Does anyone know if this machine can be hacked?

anything is possible, but that's most likely a port for the tech to hook up for a diagnostic....

but that Spray-Saturate-Spin is all part of the new ECO way of doing things....

does it do this on every cycle?...after watching the vids, apparently so......would be a little time consuming, but I think I would let it run a cycle, and then reset to run a 'tap cold' cycle, and let it run again.....the clothes would definitely be rinsed well

some machines allowed you to choose, Spin-Spray or Deep Rinse.....

you might want to consider something like a Speed Queen that would allow you the options for either one....

Well your right. Before I purchased this machine, I thought that I saw on the internet that it did a fill and agitate on the rinse cycle, but I guess not. Unfortunately, this machine does not have the softener dispenser.

I am really disappointed with this machine and I have only had it a few days.

I think if you select the rinse and spin cycle (assuming it has this cycle) you may get a deep rinse. The normal cycle only does a spray rinse...it's pretty lame...the spray doesn't even hit the clothes. There is a step up model just introduced that has a deep rinse option Htw240....

I have the GE version with the deep rinse option.

where did you purchase your washer? If it was from Lowes or another big box store they very well may allow you to return it and exchange it for a different brand or model. It can't hurt to ask. I used to have a GE TL that I bought in 2012 and it had the fabric softener rinse option which gave a full fill rinse with agitation. If I used it without this option it drained the wash water without a spin then did a partial fill with a brief agitation, then did the final spin. I used it this way a few times and surprisingly the clothes were rinsed pretty well, but with the fabric softener rinse option it performed just like a conventional old time TL.

Thanks for the help guys. I did purchase it from Lowes. I could go look and see if they have or can get the one with the softener option. That sounds like a better washer.
