Hi All,
I posted a while back that I was considering getting an 8 kg Hotpoint Smart washing machine for
Currys.
Anyway it took ages for the flat to get completed. I came across a Hotpoint 9kg Smart washer and I've had it for 2 days now. It cost £269.
I did 3 loads today and decided to do a full heavy load with mixture of towels, jeans etc on a Cottons programme. I did also do a 20 Cottons programme too for the delicate material on the sofa and I decided to wash the sofa covers.
I'm impressed with the noise level of the machine. Very quiet and stable on the cycles. I noticed it added time to the rinse cycle from 32 mins to 52 mins but it still only completed. 2 rinses and not 3. There was no foam so maybe this is why it didn't activate another rinse but it did load quite a lot of water on the rinses and the rinses went on for quite some time. It did a great job. The spins were a little fussy, I put that down to the heavy 9kg load inside the machine. Though it did a little extra time to balance the load, it was stupid with it and it alternated the tumbles etc.
Not sure if it's just me or are manufacturers making the outlet pipes smaller in diameter? I remember in the 90s when I was a kid, the outlet pipes where a little wider in diameter.
When I tried out the cottons 20 programme for the delicate materials. The machine alternated between fast and slow tumbles which was a nice touch. I also love the Instant Door Release after the cycle has finished.
Only one issue I encountered but not had time to tweak with it. I selected Drain/Spin and then selected that there is no spin via the spin selector and didn't notice the machine do anything. Maybe I needed to be more patient. But I've not had time to fiddle with it more.
Overall great machine for the price and I really like it.
Please see pics and video links.
Thanks for checking this out. Apologies for errors. Writing this post on my fone.
