Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

the exact match to my Mum's dryer

I can't beleive it's lasted 10 years now, it's been a lemon since it was new!

As far as I'm aware the washers in this series were awful in terms of wash rinse and spin performance. My Mum had the WM52, so it was basically the same as the aquarius range from the previous series of machines. It only lasted 4 years, had numerous repairs and didnt perform all that well.

There's something about them I can't dislike despite all this lol! I think its the motor and timer noises.

are these real Hotpoint UK ??

it has always been a mistery to me ! :-)
I guessed the aquarius series were pre-merlonish

But these washers have "Merlonish" doors (very close to the Ariston Margherita) despite other parts are different.

Can't manage it :-)) Any clue ?

Thanx

These were the last models based on the original Hotpoint de

However the model which followed this, the WMA- series of machines were also non-merloni, but were a complete change from the traditional Hotpoint design. The WMA series were sold from late 2000-2004/5, so they came out just before the take over and were continued through the early years of Merloni control of the Hotpoint brand.

Heres a picture of a WMA, a WMA44 apparently, was never a huge fan of this series, but they were better than the merloni made machines.

Hope this helps!

Those WMAs are abit ropey in places i think. Though its funny how the WM range & WMA range are just appearing as spares/repairs and the Merloni ones have been popping up on ebay in various states of repair for a while already!
