How BIG is Samsung?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Hmm, it is interesting, I just don't think Samsung is this great company people claim.

The quality of their products is very average. Speak to most sales assistance at electronic or home appliance stores and they say "style over substance". Samsung sell their products heavily on advertising. They have and maybe still are playing some very dirty game sin the tech industry, hiring students in south east asia and North American now to brand bash Samsung rivals in their smartphone department.

We had some South Korean students at my college at one point, and we got talking about Samsung and how the company is perceived in SK. Now I thought Koreans would be very proud of Samsung because of what this video explains, how bgi and powerful they are, what a good advert for south Korea and so on, but a lot of them actually resent Samsung. They say because they are so big and powerful, they push out smaller independent companies out of the market, they don't get a chance.

However this is just my opinion. There are people who are very happy with their Samsung products.

No..,

Totally agree olive oil. I had the top of the line Samsung Eco Bubble washing machine (here in the UK, would equate to around $2000 from our money).

It was rubbish, lasted 7 months and after 5 failed service calls, Samsung refunded me.

So agree, style over substance.

Interestingly, I do like their mobile phones though.

I'll stick up for my Ecobubble, its 2 in October, never had any issues with it, its been exposed to very cold temperatures and it still works well, I will however slate the samsung phones I had, very sluggish and always froze!

Haha

Tom, the complete opposite then. I'm glad yours is working great.. When mine did work, it was good too, just did not stand the test of time :(

Out if interest, which Samsung phones did you have? I work for a mobile phone company so have had a LOT of phones, especially Sasmung. I currently have the Note 4 and the Galaxy S6 Edge and they're great.

Samsung washing machines

You guys are probably not aware of this but Samsung have been subject to one of the biggest product recalls here in Australia, due to some faults in some of their top load washers.
This recall has been going on for more than a year I was reading only earlier today and it is because these certain models with these faults were actually exploding and causing many home fires.
Even ones which had been serviced and repaired were still exploding into flames, so I would be very wary of ever buying their washers, and a year or two ago there were many problems being reported with some of their side-by-side fridges as well.

Liamy1: I had a Galaxy Ace, but my sister has had most of the new galaxy S (insert numeral) phones and she's had nothing but trouble off them, my dads had issues with his Galaxy Fit as well.

I used to have the original Galaxy about 5 or 6 years ago now and it was a horrible, horrible phone. Plasticy, lagged all the time but that is largely to do with android (I have been suing windows phone for about 4 years now which I love)

Samsung's stupid advertising campaigns, there ridiculous names for their "technologies" which seem to be in one model one year and out the next, versus say Bosch or Electrolux (in washing machines anyway) who stick to more traditional technologies that actually work, and the ones they do come up with, like air condensation technology for Bosch washer driers actually work !

I prefer LG when it comes to South Korean companies and their products. I found their stuff to be slightly better made and work just a little bit better, but my £1800 LED tv in the living room which is 2 years old now has one nearly blown speaker, and the smaller 32 inch one in my room is doing the same.

I now feel better about Samsung after watching that video. I think it's wonderful how a small company from a small country, can achieve such a growth. Sort of wish I'd bought a Samsung FL in stead of the LG. Given the size of Samsung, I would not be surprised if LG sourced some of there parts from Samsung.

Hats off to Samsung!

Samsung Over LG

I would choose a Samsung over LG product across the board. The half a dozen Samsung products I have purchased and used lasted quite a long time. I know too many people that have had catastrophic issues with LG that I couldn't go that route.

I had factors on being a renter, and short term returns over going to the Laundromat.

I wanted a SQ FL digital. But could not justify the $1800.plus cost.

My two factors on buying an LG over a Samsung, were the reviews, as Samsung has about twice the amount of unhappy campers. They may also sell twice as many, but it does not look that way from the many stores I went to visit. Other factor was just price, as I found a dented LG for $525.(3170).

I also believe at a certain price point($800.~ $1100. list), the different brands make little difference in quality.

Bottom line is this, if I owned my home, I'd buy a SQ-FL. After all, $1800. is not all that much when your talkin about US built SQ quality. I've spent more on some of my watches(and there Seiko's).
