New brake tube assembly. Brake rollers and cam have had an appropriate amount of grease applied. This was obviously a heavy load. How does it sound? I'm questioning the roaring/growling noise when the brake is applied? Here is a video.

My washer literally just stopped a few minutes ago and the break sounded just like that. It was a pretty heavy mixed load. It's sounded that way ever since I bought the machine and I've heard others do the same thing.

Brake sounds normal

Hi Matthew, you should really put a lot of sound insulation in this machine since you’re so obsessed with any sound it makes.

Jason and I completely soundproofed a Frigidaire one to 18 one of the noisiest washers ever made to the point where the thing is damn near silent.

Some KA and WP direct-drive models (don't know about KM) included a sound insulation pad that fits into the base.  My 1990 KA KAWE760W, 2002 WP GSQ9669L, and WP Catalyst GSX9885J have one.  Some Cabrio & Bravos models also had one of a different shape/size.  The pad was missing from the Catalyst.  NLA so I ordered a Cabrio/Bravos version (available at the time, no longer) and cut it accordingly to fit.  It seems odd that the P/Ns are all different for the three DDs.

Sound pad

I have heard of those being included with KA washers, like you said. Oh well. Do you think that grinding noise will get better once it wears in? Guess I’ll have to live with it.
