I am ordering a three hole powerfin agitator and need to know how many inches TALL it is. Me and my sister are working on the Maytag we just got from the dump. And turns out the wrong agitator is in there. Does anyone know?

theres only a 2 inch difference between the two....

the machine you got from the dump is an ExLarge capacity....and requires a 4 hole agitator....its the correct size!.....I would use the LoadSensor if it was me!

standard or large capacity machines use the 3 hole agitator

Its very odd, the four hole agitator in this one sticks out of the tub. Its too big for the tub, I think the tub might have been replaced and they put the four hole agitator back, who knows. But we have two other Maytags in our basement that were trying to get working that require a standard capacity agitator.

well, there always the chance someone switched bodies, cabinets, control panle, or insides of the machine...

a little hard without seeing the inside and taking measurements.....but you should be able to see clearly a standard tub from an ExLarge one just by looking at it....

I would say even though it appears to stick out of the tub, that the lid would not close, but not the case, a large capacity powefin will work in a smaller tub and the lid will still close.....

another choice is to let the machine fill to its largest level, and see where it falls on the agitator, as in this link, granted this one being a standard capacity, but gives you an idea of where the top water level should be, and all the holes underwater...basicaly falls just at the seam line of the filter...
