Old Fogey Here

I don't have an iPod. I do have a few shiny round discs called CDs. And some other black round discs name of LPs and 45s. Oh, and I sometimes tune into electromagnetic radiation that's spewing around through the air. :-)

Ha ha ha Nick!

Limahl, your not "too shy" about admitting to that! Im not either and quite like that particular piece of Cheese. Lol At the minute on mine is the Maroon 5 album songs about jane and the first franz ferdinand album. Need to get my brother to change it tho, another piece of technology i dont really know how to use! Nick

8-tracks...

Hey Gary,

I have a little collection of 8-tracks - only about 200 or so. The most famous 'fadding' track is 'Eagles Greatest Hits', although the actual song that fades escapes my memory. Maybe it was 'Already Gone'?

Not to drift the subject, but I usually just hit shuffle on my iPod video of approx. 2500 songs. Playlists are just playlists, I like a bit of variety!

Ben

I have a 1GB shuffle. Currently have 72 songs on it right now, but my iTunes library has 246 songs.

9444 songs

1. I Got It Bad (And That Ain't Good)-- Ella Fitzgerald
2. Various Times-- The Fall
3. Regret-- New Order
4. Listen To My Heart-- The Ramones
5. Us and Them-- Pink Floyd

Wow, that's a much more eclectic mix than I could have picked by hand, LOL!

I've got an I-pod shuffle with about 12 hours or so of music loaded into it...mostly classic rock stuff, and some classical stuff too. Can't really say what it starts first, because it gives a new set of tunes every time I turn it on :)

The I-pod shuffle to me is an amazing piece of electronic technology. It's the size of a pack of gum, yet olds 1GB of data, runs on only a few milliamperes, and has the fidelity of an expensive hi-fi system (with a good bit rate, and decent headphones!) It wasn't that long ago I thought the cassette walkman was high technology, and you had to carry a mess of cassette tapes with you if you wanted to listen to different music!

Pack of gum? Get real!

The old iPods are so pre-September 12. The world's smallest MP3 player ships soon!

1965 songs

1) Father Figure- George Michael
2)Unchained Melody (piano solo)- Attila Fias
3)Penny Lane- The Beatles
4)Song For Mama- BoyzII Men

7)We Built This City- Jefferson Airplane (or sumthin)
8)Adagio For Strings- DJ Tiesto
9)Underneath The Radar- Danielle Foote
10)You Raise Me Up- Josh Groban

I have the most eclectic music taste around, i'll listen to anything and love it lol

Matt

Whoops, I read the first post requesting 5 songs and didn't go any further; Here's my first 15 on the second attempt:

1) Your Sister Can't Twist (But She Can Rock & Roll)-- Elton John
2) The Night Before-- The Beatles
3) Sowing Seeds-- The Jesus & Mary Chain
4) Restless-- Sweet
5) New Brat In Town-- The Auteurs
6) Lowdown-- Wire
7) Sun Arise-- Alice Cooper
8) The Fish-- Yes
9) Silly Love-- 10cc
10) To Reach Me-- The Go-Betweens
11) Stupid Marriage-- The Specials
12) Ohm Sweet Ohm-- Kraftwerk
13) Happy For You-- Lloyd Cole
14) Cornucopia-- Black Sabbath
15) Axe Victim-- Be Bob Deluxe

and if you're still reading..

16) Keep Away-- Lou Reed
17) Mercy In You-- Depeche Mode
18) Ghosts Of Princes In Towers-- Rich Kids
19) Circle-- Siouxsie & The Banshees
20) Day In Day Out-- XTC

The iPod must have been set for 'obscure album tracks' on that go-round! Only Rich Kids, Be Bop Deluxe, Wire and 10cc were treated to 'greatest hits' tracks.

I never, ever use the shuffle setting on my iPod. It was interesting to see what it came up with, though.

For some reason I've never had any interest whatsoever in Ipods, discmans, walkmans etc. Not that I don't like music, I've spent small fortunes on stereo equipment in the past, but I don't want it following me around everywhere I go. More often than not these days I prefer the sounds of silence.
