How many years do you think that the new whirplools belt drives washers will last on the market

Hello to all of aw members,

how long do you think that the new belt drive top loading washers will last on the market before company or store decide that they went on there floor display the most recent fl washer dryer set with the most recent tech me i would estimate that by 2018 we will no longer see in department store top loading washers if you look at the lower rinse roper washer thread well for me in my case i no went a low water level rinse water machine how will the suds be remove efficiently if the water level is not the same as the wash water level i also have a feeling that alot will prefer to have there 1970 to 1990 washers repaired rather than cough out 2000$ + tax for a new washer dryer set or try to find a refurbish washer of that era. And for me after reading the thread on the low water rinse level is making me think more and more and du to the fact that in the near future estimate around 2014 2015 that i went a stack washer dryer set that means fl maytag maxima with the matching dryer stack on the top of the washer and the towl closet right beside the washer dryer in the main bathroom in my home.

Setting aside regulations....

Overall, they are a poor design, I don't see them lasting long at all, too many electronics to go bad.

For those interested, I made a video talking about the differences of them.

Anyway, I am going to do my best to keep these 1990 Whirlpools going. No way will it be worth to spend money on a washer (Setting aside SQ) that will break down in less than 5 years and have repairs costing more than the washer itself.

Thank you for the vid i think that direct drives of 1990 and early 80 dd machines a mechinical timer is more precise than an electronic unless on the cycle selector they have a soak cycle but i think that the lower models with an agitator will not have this feature unless you go with the impaller plate model but like i said i have a feeling that with in a couple of years my estimate is in my first post we will no longer see top load washers on the market unless buying refurbish 1970 to 1990 models.
