Recently I picked up a pretty unique Radarange on eBay...shipping ended up being more than the estimator had calculated, but I paid it no problem (seller was relieved) and offered some shipping tips to guarantee this thing wouldn't get destroyed. When the machine arrived, they had ignored every suggestion and of course it was damaged beyond use. No bubblewrap, no peanuts, no corner or edge protection, just hard pieces of styrofoam taped randomly to the outside of the machine!

After settling matters with the seller, I spent the better part of this afternoon rebuilding, adjusting and fixing this beast and with a new cabinet, adjusted door, straightened and buffed panel and repair to the pow supply chassis, it looks like we're in business!

Behold, the 1983 1000W Radarange Touchmatic III, requiring a dedicated 20A circuit!

Thanks John. This is the only Touchmatic 3 I've found in the wild and I imagine most didn't look closely enough to realize what it was.

I picked up a NEMA t-slot adapter on Saturday; my circuits are all 20A but my outlets are 'standard' 15A. This'll find a nice spot in the kitchen lineup. -C

Wow, I've never seen one of those either.  20 amps, eh?  Bet you dim the neighbour's lights when you fire this one up.... LOL

Great find, Cory!

Thanks guys!

Greg, I'm assuming this was offered as a special order, when you look at the marketing lit, the 1010 was top dog in the lineup (Touchmatic II) yet here exists the 1110. (Manufacture date of '83) Makes me wonder if someone at Amana realized they already had the parts for the commercial 1kw model, so why not fit it to the residential line.

In a strange coincidence, someone contacted me recently for a handle for their RR, and sure enough, they had this same model and the guy clearly knew it was a 1000w machine. He was the original owner so I asked for a little background on it but haven't heard back.

For kicks, here's a pic of the 910 and 1010 Panels to go along with the 1110 above.
