Launderess, you couldn't be farther from reality.
That might only be partly true in France because electricity is way cheaper than the rest of Europe (but still more expensive than the average in the USA/Canada).
Most of the heating is done via natural gas or tanked gas or oil (being less and less common in new places).
Also France isn't freezing or dismantling any of its reactors, indeed 3 new ones EPR are being built.
As for the Germans, they are making a very stupid mistake and France has already started selling power to them: this means price increases and more foreign dependence, just like in Italy where the average tariff is 50% higher than the EU!
