Have never seen nor heard of Miele selling factory refurbished goods in the United States, or any where else for that matter.

Factory refurbished? What a nonsense. The seller probably had a Miele repairman out and is now selling them. Since they are new there is still warranty on this machine. I bet that's the story behind this.

They could be

Miele B Stock, which is ex display stock, or machines that were returned by the purchaser. The main difference, is that it might've had light use, and it doesnt have its box.

We bought our W2888 as B stock, and instead of costing $3699AUD, we paid $2500. This machines still are usually sold by Miele dealers rather than any old Joe.
