How to bypass S.Q. lid switch

First, I want to thank all of you again that helped me out with my SQ dryer
problem. It's working better than perfect. It's now the matching washer. I want
to by-pass the lid switch. There are times when I drop something or forget to put
something in the wash. I hate that it shuts off when the lid opens. I want it to
continue to run. If I want it shut off, I will just push in the main control knob.
Would someone tell me what the steps are to do this. I have done this before on
older washers by just disconnecting the two wires that connects to the switch, and
tying them together. I haven't looked at the Speed Queen yet. I'll have to move
heavy cabinets first just to be able to get to the control panels screws. I
wanted to check with you folks first. It's model # AWN542SP111TW01.

It's easy to do.  Pull the washer out from the wall.  When looking at the rear panel, raise and lower the lid in order to see the mechanism that engages the switch.  You can see it from the back on the left side.  There is a stationary part of the mechanism below the portion that moves.  Simply put a clothes pin on it to prevent the moving part from disengaging the lid switch.  Not the best instructions but hopefully you'll see what I'm talking about.  You won't have to take the washer apart that way!

CLOTHESPIN LID LOCK FIX WON'T WORK

I HAVE A SPEED QUEEN 2017 ALLIANCE AWNER9RSN115TWO1. I'VE TRIED THE BYPASS LID LOCK WITH THE CLOTHES PIN BUT IT DOESN'T WORK ON MINE. THE WASHER FILLS THEN WILL NOT PROCEED TO THE NEXT CYCLE, LID LOCK LIGHT FLASHES. WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO DO TO BYPASS THIS ON MY MACHINE?

Lid lock is different than kid switch

The fix here is for a lid SWITCH, and yes, for a lid SWITCH it DOES work. your washer (and mine btw) has a lid LOCK as required for safety due to it not having a tub brake to bring the spinning tub to a stop. Different beast entirely.

Also, perhaps unintentional but.... no need to yell. ;-)
