Thanks for scanning the owner's manual! Manuals are such great fun to read. The cycles seem so brief compared to new dishwashers, but set your water-use phaser on stun: NINETEEN gallons of water for the Soak Cycle. Yeow!

Did you note the hot water temperature range: 140-160F? We used to keep our water heater at 160 when they could be set that high. Now the highest setting is about 140 or so.

I don't think my parents ever put ours above 140 at the most.  Tom, my Whirlpool Energy Saver water heater can go up to 155 or slightly higher at maximum.
