How to get the most out of your new KitchenAid Dishwasher

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Thanks for scanning the owner's manual! Manuals are such great fun to read. The cycles seem so brief compared to new dishwashers, but set your water-use phaser on stun: NINETEEN gallons of water for the Soak Cycle. Yeow!

Now the highest setting is about 140 or so

I don't think my parents ever put ours above 140 at the most.  Tom, my Whirlpool Energy Saver water heater can go up to 155 or slightly higher at maximum.

David thank you again and again and again. This brought back so many good memories. I can still remember what ours smelled like when I opened the door the first time. And that cool US Steel sticker over that beautiful white porcelain with blue speckling. It was a Custom, a KDC-17a and that thing was built like a German car. It was a machine worthy of the brand. I remember I loved how you had to push one of the two cycle buttons to start the machine; then you'd hear the motor whir, you'd hear the pump purge and then the water would start to enter while the works turned so you had a quiet and gradual start-up. Wasn't silent by today's standards, but was relatively quiet.
