Help Support :

Wow Guys what interesting storys

Trully interesting storys here....................
To rocketwarriors reply I`m not shure where the large solid rimmed wheels come from that I have. However I seen simular wheels on a older tank sprayer, and a highwheel mower. Heres a photo I took this morning still have those unusual wheels 33 years later!!!.The 4 bolts and holes in the wheel o the left is where I attached the dryer pulley.
I have to say I admire rocketwarrior`s creativity on his costume. Looks like he used a ELECTROLUX vacuum cleaner as the rocket

ALDSPINBOY

It was a laundromat around the corner in Germantown, Mt. Airy, on Emlen St. (in Philadelphia in the late 60's, for me, 70's & early 80's before they shut down) that I used to play and watch washers for years. They had a large row of G.E. TURQUOISE washers with all the filter flo lint hats sitting on the lids. I used to love to see that, and machines were raised so my grandmother used to lift me up to watch them on the ledge, I got my bearings and peaked in the washer and got my face WET from the flo of the water in the filter flo . . . lol. So..... there was a front load washer in the corner a semi automatic which had a long plastic table that you could slide the laundry from the washer down to the extractor and the spinner had a crest that was named ALDSPIN. When they closed and tore the building down they had all the washers and the extractor outside and I took off the crest which is aluminum and now it is in my collection. I miss using the machine because I used to wash for this lady for $15.00 and did her whites one day in the semi front load washer one wash, three rinses, and drain. Open the washer door slide the wet clothes down into the extractor; it had instructions on a round lid which is funny three small pics of a lady with lovely nails . . . lol. . . arranging clothes around the basket and I did just that with the white clothes and this lady came up to me and said "This child can wash! I never saw such nice clean clothes and how you have those clothes perfectly in the basket". She proceeded to get other people to look at it, I was . . . well . . . very happy about that! The spinner was 25 cents for 4 minutes probably 1700 rpm. It had a gap in the lid to look in . . . hehe . . . I was nine years old ALDSPINBOY Darren K

Chuck - Gocartwasher - wheels

Love those wheels. Awesome.

Er, for the reoord, it is not a "costume" --- It is a uniform. See link.

Taker care.

GoCartWasher - now, about the steering

If you don't mind, I am interested in the steering. I presume the front wheels were on a solid/through axle, but what/how did you fashion the steering geer? I grew up in a body shop and salvage yard. My brother and I had an advantage, we made our first go cart in the mid 60's by removing the body from an old BMW Isetta. I flipped it end over end on a county road (at age 15) and survived.

Chuck , steering

Yikes! I just looked closer at your first post. Am I seeing a rope or cable system instead of a steering wheel? Like old soap box street carts???? Love it. Just love it!

My screen name came about when my co-worker had the name of Sanworker, so I had to come up with a name that was unique
and long enough that it could not be copied with a number at the end since it is very long under MSN standards.
So being careful and being somewhat cleaver, it takes a team to keep New York clean,
so Clean Team of New York emerged and here I am. CleanteamofNY.

I chose my screen name because I am an X-ray Tech. And if there was one thing other than positioning skills from Miss Judy was to be proud of being an ARRT Registered tech and I use my credentials R.T.(R) after my name on everything I sign
