When I'm in home doing service, I like to put a pad down to lay my tools on. It adds a touch of class and the customers like it. I used one of the original 'Red Carpet Service' mats passed down to me by my Mentor who retired from Maytag service a long time ago. I've since retired the factory mat as I don't want it totally worn out (it means alot to me as does the authentic Maytagman Hat like you saw in the old commercials). My name is Andrew. Soooo RedCarpetDrew.

Classiccaprice is for my 79 Caprice classic i.e. my Classic Caprice Classic... It's been in the family since new and was my first car when I turned 15. Quite a lot of memories in that car.

You can see it in the background behind Dave (Volvoguy87) as he uses my wringer. It was taken when he came down last fall with all those appliances. Since he's internet-less in Ohio right now, I'm sure he won't share his screen name story. He drives an 1987 Volvo.

A while back we had a couple visiting from out of town (husband and wife). At the wine store, we picked up a copy of the Fairfield County Weekly. As we were driving to visit friends, the wife was reading the personals out loud and came upon an ad in the M4M section with the abbreviation/acronym "FF". When she asked what "FF" was, my partner immediately said 'French Fries.' The husband knew what it REALLY was and looked at me with the biggest grin! Still chuckle about that one.

I would have liked to have used my real name, but shortly before I signed up for AW.org, there was a nasty explosion of queenly discord on the other collector's sight.

Since I have been active in Applianceville for many, many years, this didn't surprise me. The attempts at reprisal which accompanied that blow up did, however. Even tho' I was not involved, I decided to create a screen persona which would be true to one of my loves - cats - yet include countries and 'traceable' ipo's and 'real life' names which were sufficiently red hearing to protect me.

If I had it all to do again, I'd choose 'Pank Thumper'. She's thumping away right now, cleaning a load within an inch of their lives. Never saw a TL which came close to her thorough cleaning and made such happy noises doing it.

If I knew at the time I registered that I'd get into this site and make some friends here, I'd have been a little more inventive and used something like 'AbsolutelyKrazyKenmoreDude' or something.

My screenname has nothing to do with washers, but it was a name I already used before I joined the first washer related Yahoo group. Aloysius is the teddybear in Brideshead Revisited, a wonderful British TV-series from the early 80's. I wanted to use the name Aloysius but that one was already occupied. So it became for aloysius. Here's a picture of Aloysius with Sebastian and Charles.
