Hubba, hubba, Hubba! Vintage Whirlpool W&D Set

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I have to say that items have been offered for free from Belchville.  I know that transportation is expensive so I can sympathize with those who cannot swing it, but I have also seen cooperative efforts among members of the club where those who are able have driven an appliance a few hours to meet up with someone else who was willing to do some hauling. There are people here who would help and have helped if asked.

Just doin' my thing, Laundress!

Something like this comes up, everyone ooooh's, and aaaahhh's, but no one pulls the trigger. Then a few weeks later, people start moaning about no vintage appliances coming up.

I've always said, if there's a will, there's a way. I spent a long day driving to St Louis, and back to pick up a set that had been offered here. It can be done.

Cool WP Washer And Dryer

These were TOL, the dryer is one or two model years newer however, the washer is WPs first washer with a lighted control panel, this would be a 53-54 model [ this washer even still used a two level float to give the two different water levels.

The dryer is a 1956 model, very cool that it is GAS and it has electric ignition.

I know that transportation is expensive

True, so very true.

It is difficult to get anything shifted today for under $300, and that is cheap. If possible best to go and collect one's self.

That Westinghouse washer in New England is *still* up for grabs despite a price chop to only $25 last time one checked. Years ago am almost sure a deal would have been done by now.

If I was able to move that Westinghouse washer I would have grabbed it.  I don't mind some driving, but I am pretty useless and moving and loading.

If anyone wants a turquoise DE750 Maytag dryer, you better contact me soon.  It's in the driveway and soon will be a Kia.

In regards to shipping, I have found it's often much less to let a shipper bring you the item than drive both ways.

Hello everyone

I purchased the washer, and the dryer as well. Turns out they were about 35 minutes from my house. These will be my first vintage set and I honestly cannot wait to get them all cleaned up and restored as well. They are in pretty good shape with minimal rust. They are definitely heavy, but very well built. They sure don't make them like they used to. I have a collection of vintage vacuums, but I love anything old. I think I have the major appliance bug now!
