Is anyone familiar with the Hudson Refrigerator? This is reported to be 1949. It’s in a local Porsche garage, I’ll try to get more pictures and model numbers if I can. A search returns everything Hudson except this.

Hudson..

Was a Detroit store...also Norge was a Detroit product, so it very well could be made by Norge. You can tell by the compressor if its a Norge Rollator.

I think ...

... those "clocks" on the older refrigerators were actually timers that governed when the compressor turned on and off ...

I couldn't find pictures of a Norge from this period (clock or no clock) with the creased door or similar looking hinges, but it could be that such a trim feature set Hudson apart and that everything behind the door is pure Norge.

The speculation from Hans makes perfect sense.  I tend to think the "Cold Meter" is more useful than a clock anyway, and it requires no cordage to function.
