Jackman's first SNL episode (Dec. 2001) was one of the funniest I've ever seen. "Christmas Kangaroo" is still an inside joke in our house.

Phwoar is an expression of appreciation

thank you for that translation, it was exactly what I had in mind. The rest of what I had in mind will be confined to a private email ;-)

PHWOAR!!!!!!

If you've watched any of the modern Britcoms on PBS, you've probably heard the phrase, but aren't familar with the spelling.

Might sound like "Whoaa" or some such to American ears, but is a phrase uttered when you see someone you fancy. Usually good-looking, muscley, buff, fit, trim, busty, etc.....

As for Mr. Jackman, you should have seen him on Broadway doing show based upon the life of the late Peter Allen, "The Boy From Oz.

Phwoar Indeed!

Pronunciation

Anyone who has watch old British comedy films might be more familiar with the expression "Cor", which might be admiration or amazement. PHWOAR is pronunced similarly but with the hard C sound replaced by a softer and more elongated F sound, sort of like Fffoorrrr although it is always spelt PH.

As I said earlier an expression of admiration - Paul, I am sure that EXACTLY the same thoughts were going through my mind. Wolverine - yum yum yum!

Combo52 you are a VERY lucky guy!
