Came upon this great little program last night on the Documentry Channel. It profiles four French Cajun women from Louisiana and how their passion for ironing.

Worth seeing for the accents alone, not to mention shots of that beautiful countryside.

Since I went to school in Louisiana, I heard that accent many a time. Some of those people with that accent were really wild! But were a lot of fun to be with.

The Accent Is Strange

But if one speaks or has studied French while sounds like the language, has more in common with Canadian or the French spoken in parts of Maine/Northeast than current "France" French. There is a bit of Irish and Scottish to my ears as well.
