I have an 8 place setting of Onida flatware Dover pattern. I am looking for an additional 4 place setting giving me 12. Cheapest I have been able to find new is $149.99. Was wondering if anyone here knew if there were any sites that sell used/previously owned flatware that I may find it cheaper?

I could suck it up and buy new, but would love to save the bucks if I could, also mine has been in use for over 20+ years, I would like to have some more "weathered' pieces.

There is

a gay owned place down south that does sell used flatware at what I find to be maybe a bit high in price. It is called Replacements Ltd. and you can Google it for their on line site. I have used them for several discontinued patterns over the years and find the quality of their product to be in better condition to me than what they say it is. They sell different grades.

The price you see is what you get!
I want replacement set of my Oneida Simba set and it took me almost 5 years to find the name of the set!

Thanks for reminding me to do another Bing/Google search!

Replacement LTD will sell per piece but it's just as expensive if buying a whole set....

Replacements Ltd. is such a neat place. They provide daycare for their employees' children and have weathered the fire & brimstone of preachers' ire because a gay man owns it and brought a thriving business to a semi-depressed area which infuriated the non-compos-mentis of the religious crowd. I read an interview someplace with the owner.

I have a ton of my brother's collection of Oriental Peacock that I need to get to them. I don't know why he bought it. He never mentioned the acquisition of it and then we kept finding all of these brand new multiples of even special pieces in the original boxes after his death. To me it is so damn ugly that it would be good for using if you were dieting because it would take away your appetite, but then again, I would probably just cover it up with food and gain.

Please forgive me if I am suggesting something you have already tried, but have you checked out the Oneida outlet stores? We stopped in one in 2001 in FL and I bought the casserole spoon for my Paul Revere. Another thing you might try is to contact people in your area who do estate sales and give them a picture of what you are looking for with your contact info on the back, same with consignment shops.

Also:

Do not overlook the "silverware baskets" in your local thrift store or stores....

You would be absolutely amazed what people have no idea is special; they use it, abuse it, and when they tire of what's left of it, they toss it in the box for charity.

I have a 125-piece service for eight in Oneida's Queen Bess that began as a forty-piece thrift store find at 20 cents a pop. This is silverplate.

I have found Dansk Fjord this way, I've found Oneida Wintersong this way, I've found Oneida Paul Revere this way and I've even found a beautiful sauce ladle in Towle's Candlelight sterling. Only the other day, my local thrift had eight places of Ekco Eterna. All of these are sought-after, collectible patterns.

It's out there. Look for it, be prepared to walk out empty-handed for a while, and it will turn up.

Davey:

Replacements, Ltd. is the largest and best-stocked china and silver matching service in the nation, if not the world. They have just about everything. Insurance companies use them extensively to replace their clients' tableware when it's burned, damaged or stolen.

Go to the link below and click on the "China" tab, and then navigate the alphabetical list to get to the listings for Schumann. They list patterns alphabetically.

If you do not know the name of your pattern, emailing them a photo of it will give them what they need to find the name for you. No charge for that service.

Their prices can seem high, but the merchandise is in first-class condition and they will take it back without a hassle if you're not happy. They often have some items that don't meet their standards for full-price merchandise, and they offer it at a discount. For people who have tableware with some wear on it, these items can be a real bargain.

One thing to beware of though with Replacements Ltd. is that if you have a china pattern that you want to sell they will pay you less than what it would cost to ship it to them.  I realize that they're in business to make money but, what they offered some friends of ours for a fairly complete set of china was insulting.  I don't recall the pattern name right offhand but, it was something fairly obscure from Homer Laughlin.
