I'd like to apologize too, for being too bullheaded sometimes (I believe the comment on my Catholic-school report card was "outspoken, sometimes to the point of belligerence..."

I may come off like gangbusters, but, believe me, I'm really no big deal....as Morrissey sung, just another who has maddening views.

I am fairly new to the group (joined 9/06) and I can testify that the people here are very helpful. Goatfarmer has found the missing parts for my 1951 GE fridge and they are on the way (many thanks GF!). Be patient. In time, some one will run across the parts you need and let you know.

if there is one thing I have learned when dealing with vintage appliances, and that is you will always come across a part you need when you are NOT looking for it, but when it comes time to need that said part, you will NEVER find one without an extensive search!

That's just the nature of the beast when dealing with stuff that's 30 years or more old. The stuff's not made anymore. To one person, the parts are junk, but to us, they are gold. It's sort of a random thing is something crops up or not, you just gotta go with the (filter) flow per se. Good luck in finding your filter! no harm done!

When I wasn't looking, I eventually found what I was looking for when I just slowed down, but when I was trying too hard it eluded me. Patience has never been one of my good qualities.
