It's like living in Monaco during Spring, or south Florida during the summer. Everyday humid either warm and humid or cool and damp, and rain, rain, rain at least part of the day.

While the temperature has not been overly warm, must run the AC to wring the damp out of the air. So much moisture is removed by the machine that for the first time am having water leaking inside, despite leveling and repitching the thing several times. Apparently there is just that much water being removed the unit cannot get rid of it fast enough. Had to order drain pan treatments from the HVAC store because all that water is starting to moulder.

At this rate NYC maybe under water by Labour Day if this keeps up. Tell you what don't want to hear one darn word about "drought" or "water shortage", or even a increase in water rates.

Line drying is nearly immpossible as the air is so moisture laden things take ages to day (that is if it does not rain), and end up starting to moulder or at least get a whiff about them. Even ironing is a pain because items take ages for the remaining damp to be carried off.

A few copper pennies ($.01 coins for our international friends) placed in the water tray of a humdifier, dehumidifer or the bottom of the evaporator (indoor coil sections) of an air-condtioner will keep mould from growing-- and you can't beat the price. Alternatively get some copper craft wire or electrical wire.

Oh Lady L, it's getting to the point that concrete walkways have algae and moss growth and the air itself is sarting to have an odor to it. And I do mean worse than New Jersey air blowing east to us, worse than the Staten Island dump and the odors of Manhattan itself.

Well, 2 summers ago I was "enduring" waht Laundress was enduring, but I dind't complain one bit. Why? Because I knew the time would come agian like what I'm having to go through now. Saw an article today that Lake Travis in Austin is so low, cars are being uncovered that were stolen and dumped in there in the 1970s and 1980, which haven't seen the light of day since they were stolen. And Lake Travis is where Austin gets most of its water, except for Edwards Aquifier. San Antonio is as bad if not worse. Two years ago we had record-breaking summer rain and rain for the year. There is a flood-control lake near my home. That year was only the 2nd or 3rd time water has gone over the spillway of the dam, the previouis time was in 1992 or 1993. And prior to that maybe once since it was constructed in the 1950s, courtesy of LBJ. I am dreading my water bill (keep my yard alive as well as keep the ground around my foundation wet, but that's still a losing propostion) as well as dreading my electric bill. But I'll take this over snow & ice still!!--I just don't go outside except to go to & from work and go to the grocery store.

If it clears up this Tuesday or Wednesday, it will be the 1st time in a month that the lawn has needed to be mowed. We're about 2" below what we should have at this point for the summer.

Never seen things this bad! Just looked at the "7 Day Forecast" and it's full of 103's and 104's...not good!

It's lawn mowing day for me today. Need to do both yards. It has been raining here and very damp also. Finally we have sun today in the 90's and very humid. Oh well it's been 2 weeks since I have mowed and with all the rain it's going to take awhile to get this done. I feel this is better than shoveling snow and freezing my ass off outside.

~Heyyyyyyyyyyy....... I'm from Joisey! :)

WELL..... not ALL of Jersey.... just the refineries! *LOL*

Just checking to see if you were "listening"!

Best regards, Mister Jim!

Yeah, and SEATTLE is having a heat wave! 94 yesterday, 99 anticipated for today and 101 tomorrow!! We haven't had any traceable rain in over 6 weeks and it's dry!!! Thank goodness for the modern mavel--air conditioning! Luxflair guy-Greg

This is one of the wettest summers here that I can remember. It seems as soon as my basement drys out, we get another heavy rain.

Friday we had some really severe weather, storm sirens going off on both the IL and IA sides of the river, and had another small storm last night. Glad I got part of the yard mowed before it rained.

Same here, a shitty summer so far pardon my french. No long wamr spells, no hot spells, no warm nights where you can sit out all night, well last night was the first it didn't go below 70 all night. Lotsa rain. Today was our first real muggy day so far and here it is now 630PM and it's started raining again.. I'm sick of rain.
