I believe that Coldspot ( an older brand name used decades ago for the Sears refrigerators,freezers and air conditioners)is now (or was recently) used for Sears contractor/builder sales. The builder/contractor would give lists of needed products in 100 piece amounts for quotes on items like kitchen major appliances,coin op laundry equipment and central heat/air pumps.For competitive reasons,Sears probably decided to use one of their own brands (Coldspot)that nobody else could meet or beat because neither the brand name nor the model numbers matched.GE does it with Hotpoint and Americana.Whirlpool does it with Admiral and Roper.Frigidaire does it with Kelvinator and White Westinghouse.L.G. does it with Goldstar.
