I am out of here until after November 4th, at the earliest.

Will be checking POD.

Will also be checking email, too, but this is it for here until maybe around November 15th, or whenever the election is called, and a winner is declared.

I can't take any more of the political @#&&+

I wish all of you well.

Lawrence/Maytagbear

Enjoy your break! But remember: only YOU can choose which threads you want to read. Picking and choosing what I read and what I want to respond to sure keeps me sane, and helps keep my friendships intact!

Peter very wise advice!! I do the same, if a thread upsets me that I stay away from it, very easy for me to do.

Everybody breathe!
This site gets a bit "barky" with each big election (to steal another's quote). It's a cyclical thing.

I agree with the above ideas; just don't read what is distasteful.

When certain individuals feel the need to ram something down my throat, I too must remind them that my first choice is not their opinions, nor their ideologies, thank you very much.

Let it be known here and now that EVERYONE'S contribution is vulued by me and I learn a great deal with every thought (defective or otherwise) that flows. I am sure many feel this way.

But please ladies (and laddies) have some #$%^& respect for the other person's feelings and opinions. We are ALL limited in our thought proceeses by our zip (postal) code, our language, our culture, our eduction levels and our life circumstances.

In a word(or 6) "CUT THE OTHER PERSON SOME SLACK".

I hate that so many of the good ones are taking a pause, rest, break, breather. But better that, rather than disappearing permanently.

SO COME BACK SOON Y'ALL. HEAR?

YOU ARE ALREADY MISSED.

And I love the local deflection device...CAKE ANYONE?

I may be naive,,,

I am going to have to read Atlas Shrugged because it is talked about so much now, but I thought it was a book about bodybuilding and weightlifting in the 50's. I wonder where I got that idea?

Lawrence, Sandy and a few others.

I have a suggestion....

Please don't deny yourself the pleasure of enjoying this site. You are here for a reason, remember that.
Why don't you just ignore The Super Thread until November 15th and only read the Imperial and Deluxe forums? Your contribution here is appreciated and respected and I for one don't want to see you go. I do agree the debate has gotten mean spirited and if you have an opinion that differs with the majority, you are pounced on like flies on sh*t.

I am done with The Super Forum until after the election, maybe indefinately, we'll see. I have no desire to fight with people. They have their opinions and won't change them, I have mine. The sad thing is respect for each other has been lost in this debate, that to me is quite tragic.

Almost

I almost left AWO all together a few years back for almost the same reasons. I, like some of the other members decided, if i didnt like the topic that i didnt have to read it. Personally nobody said or did anyhting to me but all the hissing and scratching can get old. Anyways im still here, still enjoy the site, but i am FOGF.

Just like at family gatherings, if you don't like the discussion around the kitchen table, take your piece of cake and cup of coffee into the dining room and join another discussion. There's always many different kinds of cake on the counter in the Super forum kitchen - enjoy!
