Finally, after months of searching I can across this nice Siemens ExtraClass Made in Germany dishwasher. Bought it from a very nice (and wealthy) family. The lady said she used Intensive frequently and never those stupid (IMO) all-in-one tablets. Indeed, the washer was pretty clean. Just need to order the original adjustment strips underneath the fascia as they went missing.

And I'm glad I got rid of that absolute POS Bomann thing our landlord put in!!! It'll be stored away for the next tenants to use / deal with.

Features:
A++ energy
13 place settings (no cutlery drawer)
44 dB

Intensive 70C
auto 45-65C
Eco 50C
Intensive Eco 45C
Fast 65C

Delay start
Half Load
Vario Speed
Intensive Zone
Hygiene option

Turbidity and load sensor
IQ Drive

I think at one time some Hotpoint dishwashers were actually rebadged Bosch/Siemens machines.

Me, too! The old one was 55dB and draining sounded like... when you mix dough and the beaters strike the plastic bowl... that's how the (clean and free) pump sounded. This one has a pump that a) is very quiet and b) shuts off when the water has drained. The main motor makes like no sound at all. What a difference!

Siemens

Hi!
Very nice dishwasher! Can you maybe do the pictures of the inside? :)
I really like Siemens Dishwashers, mine is nearly 13 years old now, going strong, and, what's the most important - never happened to take out something dirty out of it.

Also, I am interested in Fast 65 programe. Can you tell does it have a pre wash, and how many rinses? How are drying results? And How long does it take?

Thanks :)

Ooh, Well Done!

It is a very nice machine, very clean lines, and I LOVE the controls being visible on the FRONT of the control panel - where they bloody well should be!

Edge controls are such a pain: you can't access them without opening the door, getting scooshed in the process - and I never, ever liked the thought of water + detergent getting sprayed anywhere near the delicate electronic controls.

"Also, I am interested in Fast 65 program. Can you tell does it have a pre wash, and how many rinses? How are drying results? And How long does it take?"

The Fast cycle is a 65C wash a, a rinse and a 65C rinse. Intensive Drying adds 15 minutes to this 60-minute cycle.

I used the auto cycle on a rather large load yesterday. Started at 2:30 hrs. but took 45 minutes less. The drying portion now takes roughly 30 minutes but everything came out dry. So far, I can tell that the pre-wash far that particular load on the auto cycle was heated, like on our 2006 Siemens but there were no purges in between the wash and the rinses. Might also have been because it sensed a lighter soil level - though I think that load was dirty. The drying cycle, as I said, is a good bit longer. Also the pre-wash and final rinse are definitely water-misers: I could hear the pump struggle to keep the water flow strong at times. Still, the water left on some cups was crystal clear. I like that the alternation of the spray arms is now very quiet - our older Siemens would make air-noises (?) when it would change from lower basket to upper/ceiling spray.

Yesterday's load just after opening the door. Note the dry plastic bowl.

Just tried the Fast cycle. Pretty impressive. The racks were filled to capacity with all sorts of stuff including two pots.

Fast 65C does a 30-minute wash, two minutes of rinsing and then a final rinse for maybe ten minutes followed by nine minutes of drying. The timer jumped from 29 to 24 minutes when the interim rinse began, which I didn't suspect. Instead of driving each sprayer at a time (ceiling, middel, lower), the ceiling shower and the lower arm washed at the same time. When the cycle was done, I opened the door and almost got my face scalded by the hot steam.

Everything clean and about 90% dry - except of a Teflon pot - in just under an hour with Finish gel. Not bad, IMO.
