I remember those back in the 80's and 90's. I had a Mr. Coffee maker with similar edgy white styling.

I bought one of these new in 1987 when I burnt out my old Sunbeam handmixer trying to make cheesecake using three 8oz. packages of cream cheese. The Sunbeam stand mixer you have is just like the one I had. I really got a lot of good use out of this mixer. I gave it to my sister when I bought a Kitchen Aid stand mixer. Yours looks like brand new. I bet you're glad you held on to it.

I found one a few years back as well.. It's actually a good stand mixer, quiet, doesn't bob up and down as much as the traditional Sunbeams .  What I also like about them is that they actually succeeded in making a pretty decent "euro" look machine whereas other firms would usually flub it by adding too many accoutrements and destroy the look

Not sure which came first..this Bosch or the Sunbeam..  but you can see how the styling was similar and fairly clean

While I have two vintage Sunbeams in storage that I acquired from the late Kelly (Mixfinder) Beard, the model shown above is my daily driver.  My wife bought it before we were married in 1998.  I think she purchased it around 1994 or 1995 from Best Buy(?).  It has been a true workhorse for us.  I love it!

oddly enough, these do pack some power into that smaller power head....and actually hold up well under daily use.....

heres one on CL....a bit steep in price, as you can usually find a design like this for around 10.00 at thrift stores.....one man's junk!...some people don't realize what they have...

Good observation Pete! IIRC the MUM4 series came on the market 20-25 years ago as UM4, so the Sunbeam design is older. Here's a picture of an older machine, some of the details of the older design are different.
