10days ago, i bought myself a....Hotpoint WT960G ultima 1600 7kg in graphite.

I hear you all gasp. Now as a collector, reliability is not my first prority, as in my experience, i get bored and fancy a change fairly often, so in conclusion if this machine dies a death within a year, i won't be too upset. Unless i really really like it.

I have found these machines rather fun looking from others videos, and the design of them really caught my eye, especially in graphite.

It all started a couple of weeks ago. I got £200 for my birthday. So thought i would put it to a new machine! i've been wanting something with 7 or 8kg and 1600rpm for some time.

So i decided on the hotpoint. Theoretically it cost me £200. its £379.99 at my work, i ordered it directly from hotpoint and will be bringing it home after my shift.

There will be a pictures and videos tomorrow. I have a huge amount of laundry to do. as i wanted to see if i could fill the drum on the first load:D

Any opinions good or bad and experiences are welcome.

Darren

How exciting!

Woooo! Darren i'm looking forward to your vids and wat better way to spend your birthday money on a fancy new machine to provide hours of fun. I'll be in Lincoln next week, may drop by.

Congrats Darren.

Have to agree with you that the current Hotpoint machines look really good (in my opinion anyway).

My parents own a WF740 or W740F - one of the last available in the now sadly discontinued almond/linen. Theirs isn't super silent though and 1400rpm sounds, well, loud! Sounds great though as it slowly steps up faster and faster.

Looking forward to the vids.
Enjoy

Hey Darren

Youre overpriced ;0) its £369.99 where I work lol!

I guess its fine if ur not intending to hold on to it for years - as you say ya can get bored with things ;)

I must admit id have considered an Aqualtis if I was to go down the Hotpoint route tho !

I stand corrected Seamus :)

Real shame that they got rid of the almond'y/linen'y/sandstone'y colour scheme. It virtually guarenteed another Hotpoint, as far as my parents were concerned. Fits very neutrally with their new light wood kitchen.

I know the new trait is for silver appliances with light wood's but, as far as my parents were concerned, they couldn't cope with it.

Next time my parents come to replace their machine - probably in 15 years or so time (my dad makes things last - Hoover 3236H 18 years and Hotpoint 95452 20 years) they will be able to cast the net far and wide, rather than automatically picking hotpoint because it's the right, not in any way silver or grey, colour. They might even have to buy white again!

What goes around, comes around - will we see the shade of almond again?

Darren!

How is it? I'm really looking forward to trying it out believe it or not I've seen good things about these Ultimas on youtubes, a whole different league from my nana's Aquarius excuse for a washer! Smart looking too... if it's one thing Hotpoint do well it is design.

Looks like it's the time of the month for new additions in Lincoln, if you haven't read my other thread already :-P.

A Hottie day lol!

Hey Darren

Glad youre impressed- I seem to have a Hotpoint fixatation today, I sold a WT741G to one couple then under an hour later a WT741P and a CTD00P to another couple lol!

Hotpoint Ultima

Hi Darren,
Congratulations on your new Hotpoint Ultima. I had the WF860P which was a great machine, it washed, rinsed and spun perfectly and because of its 3 Phase Inverter Motor very quietly too. I gave it to my cousin a couple of months ago and its still going strong. I like the fact you can alter the cycle times by using the "Set by how dirty" soil level button, and selecting heavy cleverly sets a pre wash.

Happy washing.

David

Heres some pics i took of the hotpoint this mornin doin a cotton 40! i washed my dressing gown and bedding.

I also used the wash enhance button today, which makes the rinses deeper too! I'm really pleased with the machine so far:D
