Help Support :

At Sears and walmart last night, while grabbing all the sales and finishing up on the party goods,I saw a neat I Love lucy ball clock? It has these four evenly distributed balls that are shaped like choclate cany and tvs. They revolve reversing every fiew seconds and it has a sweep second hand that goes around the faces of Lucy and ethel as they stand their stupified,Their chef's hats full of choclate candy they hid to keep their boss from firing them just before the boss lady yells "speed it up a little!!"It was marked $39.99 and had a 40% off tag on it. so,I got it for under $20!!

the other item I grabbed, price not marked is another (this now makes 30!!) I Love Lucy Barbie doll. This one's from the ballett episode where she is trying to be a star. This is the one where a Vaudeville clown tries to trane her a burlesk skit "slowly I Turned" where anytime the word, "martha" is said, the one who said it gets water all over them or hit on the head with a sandbag. This doll has its leg stuck on the bar. They had it marked down from $45 to $15 !!!!!

I went shopping expecting to spend around $400 and returned wit over half that still in my wallet.

Sounds like an anniversary clock. Did the revolving/reversing balls take the place of a pendulum?

I checked the Wal-website, and it didn't show up there. We know a certain Lucy fan who might have liked that!

Lucy Lucy Lucy!

I was coming out of Target's parking lot on Thursday afternoon, and saw this on the back of the car in front of me. I had to laugh, because for the past week or so before I go to bed, I've been watching a few episodes of Lucy that people have uploaded to You Tube from the various DVD package sets that are available.

It is soooo cool to watch the entire episode instead of one that's been majorly cut.

Speaking of 'I Love Lucy': For the first time in my 50 years on this planet, there seems to be no one broadcasting reruns of the show. My cable lineup is fairly limited, but I have TBS, WGN, TV Land, etc.

Is it possible no one is running it, or is it on a channel my cable lineup doesn't carry?

Boy, and I thought it was a sad day when everyone quit carrying Bugs Bunny/Looney Tunes!

Frigilux,

I have all the episodes on vhs AND dvd.On occasion,I see it being shown on Hallmark chanel. I actualy went to our local Hallmark card store and grabbed all the washing machine ornaments they had for 75% off!!!!Anyway,I found the anniversary clock (and yes the one shown is the actual model I found) on the shelf at Sears just inside the walkway adjacent to their jewelry department.they also had one from the Wizard of Oz for the same price ($20% off $39.95).

Good Lord!

Are these stories for real? I heard that Lucy was a bitch, but never expected her to be as bad as what I'm reading.

There is an old joke that I heard quite a few years back:

What sight made Desi Arnaz cringe more than anything else?
Lucille's balls.

Don't believe it.

I am not sure I believe any of what is written on the Lucy hate site. Especially since several of the stories sound as if they were written by the same person claiming to be individuals.

I don't believe it!

Yes, well, from those I've read, they all seem to be written by the same person, who also seems to have somewhat of an obsession with adult diapers and body odor. It is the first time I've heard of the term, "Bitch Ball". I wonder if she was really called that during her lifetime?

In any case, no, I don't hate Lucy. I enjoy her early stuff. It's just rather rich fare, not something I can watch a lot. And the spoof site makes some valid points - most all the plots are pretty much the same, winding up with Lucy crying "Waaaaah!" and some male power figure (Ricky, Mr. Mooney) caving in and giving her what she wants, or forgiving her, or whatever. And it is amusing that the "Here's Lucy" show had celebrity scripts where one really could have substituted one celebrity for another for the same character and had much the same result. I first heard the term "I Loathe Lucy" in the first SNL season when Desi Arnaz Sr. hosted, and it was in a skit where he discussed the various versions of the show they tried before they settled on "I Love Lucy".

Oh My!

I (and I'm sure others) have been had in believing these whacked out stories. However, having a good laugh is the best way to end the year. :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Bill in Springfield.
