I need help finding a freezer and some fridge parts

Hi all,

I'm getting this lovely 1965 Sears Coldspot/Kenmore set in Coppertone.

However I've got a couple of problems:

1) The refrigerator is missing a drawer, its cover, and an ice bucket Anyone have any leads?

2) The seller also has the matching freezer, but his wife loves it for it's size and style. He's willing to trade for another freezer, but I need an extra large standing freezer preferably near Detroit, Cincinnati, Atlanta, or Eastern Virginia. She wants a vintage one... late 50s-mid 60s, but it's got to be huge, as you can see.

I've done a search in all of those areas. Nothing upright that is large enough, working, AND vintage. That is a great set, and I hope you get the freezer too!

It appears they're not using the ice maker in that beautiful freezer.  Maybe they'd rather have the extra space that the bin is currently taking up.  I imagine it won't be easy to find a vintage freezer with some style to it that's also frost free, so maybe getting them to part with the bin would be a good compromise.

 

The fridge is the real score.  Beautifully styled and I'm betting it's quiet as a mouse when running.  I got a white one of similar vintage at Goodwill for cheap -- like $50 -- back when I was sharing a rental around 1980.

Ralph, it's a good point about the freezer ice bucker. I'll ask him.

Wait out for the right freezer, and trade them at a later date. Trust me you'll need that freezer. I used to have an rca-whirlpool fridge a lot like this one. Every time I went to the store, I purposefully had to not walk through the freezer section. There just isn't much space in there. Eventually the auto defrost failed, halfway caught on fire and it got replaced with a coppertone Sears sxs. No more freezer space issues.
