I can't speak either: I once jammed the suction fan of a Hoover Junior Upright vacuum, to give an excuse of purchasing the then top-line Hoover Turbopower!

When my AEG washer packed in,(to prevent anyone else repairing it for their gain), I punctured the door-seal and internal hoses, ripped out the electronics, snipped all wiring, and pierced the stainless steel drum and tub with a screwdriver. Boy, did I feel good after that! And it also gave me an excuse to buy a new washing machine!

No Need!

There was never any need for me to sabotage anything I didn't like- I lived with a houseful of appliance-killers extraordinaire. If somebody didn't leave the vacuum cleaner out in the rain after vacuuming the car, then someone tried to stuff a tarp into the washing machine. Or someone dropped a baking dish onto the glass oven door while removing the dish from the oven, or shorted out the toaster poking inside it with a fork, or ...

Is it any wonder I'm so anal about care and maintenance today? I've SEEN the dark side, thank you very much! ;-)

Reminds me of my sister taking a pair of pliers to the toaster, to pull out the toast... she snipped the bloomin' element!

-I shoved a screw driver into the timer of our B/D 83 Kenmore 80 series so that led to the purchase of a 1997 80 seris DD Kenmore
_I put a trashbag full of water into that a year or so later and broke that washer and sears replaced it with another which I took compleatly apart and put back together half arsed and she used it that way for several years until i chucked it and bought her a GE which was sold with there house on it's last legs
-I used to slam the door and beat on the Whirlpool 700 series Dishwasher. It finally caught fire and died.
-I took the ice maker apart in a 94 Kenmore (by GE) Fridge and broke that causing a minor flood

I would like to Sabatoge my current fridge in hopes i could get one with shelvs that didn't bend in the middle..

Major appliances back then were just that and cost dear. Personally am quite surprised one or more of you weren't put into care, which would have been the safest place for you if you had been in our household growing up and "helped" along an appliance to an early grave. *LOL* The thrashing and or dressing down from Mama would have been bad enough, but once Big Daddy got wind of things, you would have been much better off giving your soul to God, as your behind would have belonged to him. *LOL*

Weren't we supposed to be PRESERVING older machines instead of "sabotaging" them?No I didn't try any of that while younger-just let the machines "Die" on their own.Some didn't belong to us-were part of AFB housing.Was a great way to see and try many machines!

that all the trouble that I have had with my machines etc. is PAY BACK from the washer gods. Do I reveal these on the WWW in a slight chance the the Super Mom could find out. She might spank me at 45yo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't sabotage my parents' '68 Wards Signature/Norge 18-pound machine--that noisy POS didn't need help from anybody. God, I so HATED that awful machine. What I did was embarrass my parents into realizing it was time to replace it. In 1975 they were throwing a party one Sunday afternoon and had about 10 people over. The laundry area was right off the family room and patio. All doors and windows were open. I decided to do a load of laundry and let everybody hear the rumbling groan and roar from the shot gears in that transmission, it was deafening, and it wasn't long after that audio assault that my mom and I went to Sears (I finally broke their terribly misguided loyalty to Wards) and picked out a '75 nearly TOL model with "quiet pak" and that machine lasted for over 25 years, compared to less than 8 with the Wards POS.

A few months later Mom and I went to Sears again, this time to replace a '65 Wards Signature top freezer refrigerator with single temp adjustment that could never find a happy medium between freezer temp and refrig temp, and it made way too much noise when it ran--so Wards! My mom chose this noisy machine to replace our silent but quite inadequate 1949 Westinghouse and the rest of the family hated the Signature, especially my dad. At Sears we chose a nearly BOL 19 cu. ft. side by side Coldspot with clean back design and that frig is still cranking away quietly in my mom's kitchen 32 years later. Needless to say, for me there was no love lost when Monkey Wards' lame operation finally folded.

I killed mom's Kenmore

Soon after I got my driver’s license, I hit my mother's 1970, Series 70 Kenmore and matching dryer with the car.

My father had moved the washer and dryer out into the middle of garage as to fix a water leak which was progressively getting worse (not from the washer, but from facet). Well, long story short, I was attempting to park the car in the garage and there was a lot of glare on the windshield. I couldn’t see if there was anything in the way. I entered the garage way too fast, and hit the washer and dryer... The force of impact, caused dryer, being lighter of the two, to slammed into the doorframe of the house... It wasn’t a pretty sight afterwards.

At the age of 6 I taken my grandma drain hose out of the standpipe and forgot to place it back in..her Colorado (wizard) washer flooded the bathroom....

At the ages of 7 & 8 I would start my mom TOL Kenmore washer premature with a half amount of water...by rocking the tub back and forth....watching the Roto-Swirl struggle with half amount of water....

At the age of 9, I accidentally spilled whole bunch of toothpicks in to our GE dishwasher....I really wanted my parents to get a Kitchen Aid....

At the age of 11 I would cause suds lock on the Kenmore washer..oh yeah at the neutral drain I will also place all the sheets to one side..cause the washer to be off balance..

At the age of 12 I put hand dishwashing soap in the GE dishwasher...still wanting the new KA

At the age of 14 I was playing with my mom 6 months old Whirlpool/Inglis washer (the poor Kenmore could not survive me). I cranked the timer around really fast several times causing the contacts to cross. When I turned it on...buzs..sparks...breaker flipped....I was able to get the water to drain and left it for my mom. The very next day my mom started her laundry...well..my mom blamed me...I denied it.. To my surprise there was a batch of Singer Timers that were defective...saved by the warranty and repairman!

I guess I was mischievous little bugger…mind you I had 4 sisters whole always got on my nerves……..

I started to think I had never done anything like the above and in writing so I just remembered that I did in fact purposely damage something of my dads. His wooden miter box. I wanted him to get one of those metal table types that hold the saw, so I purposely dropped (slammed) it on the basement concrete floor. Well he knew that wouldn't happen just by dropping it and came at me like an absolute madman and belted the bejeezus out of me. He was so upset that I did it on purpose I can't blame him because he never would have if it had been an accident or I'd wrecked something out of ignorance. How I wanted to destroy that old lawmower of his so we could get a new one, but I knew better.
