Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Hans, The Kelvinator & Leonard manuals I have show Chromalox units that are wound like old Corox units with an outer coil that wraps almost all the way around a spiral inner coil. The units used by Kelvinator/Leonard were flatter than the inner/outer wound Corox units as you no doubt see from the deepwell unit.

Using Liners On Oven Floors

Using a foil liner under the heating element on an electric oven should cause no problems, also using foil will not cause the element to burn out any faster, but bake elements do burn out in the coarse of normal oven use. Bake elements in electric ovens are the single most often replaced part, AND they fail a lot faster in Non-Self-Cleaning-Ovens because they have to work much harder to get the oven up to temperature and keep it there because of poorer insulation and less effective door seals on NSCOs.

I would NEVER put a silicone or any other type of  non metal oven liner under a bake element. I have seen many customers do this and the material starts to burn and degrade under the bake element where the oven surface reaches more than a 1000 degrees F. With the silicone and other non-stick liners this is differently going to release some VERY TOXIC fumes into the oven and your house and maybe even get into the cool food that is placed in the oven to cook.
