but first im depleating stocks of Shiraz and Chatueau Neuf du Pape, Red wine is more my tipple as beer tends to bloat that wonderfully flat stomach of mine.

Who would have guessed that 6 months ago I was 17 stone.
I actually just got the tape measure out and im 5'8.
Thats some achievement I reckon.

in terms of clothes sizes, I was a 42" waist and now take a 34". feels so nice wearing jeans where ones ass is not rammed in LMAO.

My work uniform is waiting to be exchanged, its on order somewhere so im bagged out in my old one.

My belt is on its last notch pulled right in to keep my trousers on. belt used to be on its last notch fully let out LOL

Anyway less about me,LOL must be some more washerpics someone could add?

When I get a load of washing later I will take a pic of the water level on Super Rinse.

Ok it really didnt take much to decide to do a wool wash.
Here is that jumper Im wearing above in the Hottie enjoying a nice 40*c Machine Washable Wool.

For those who know of my softener overdosing habits I appear to have done it again. oh dear. full compartment of Comfort Easy Iron concentrate. just lovin that scent!

This is as high as it gets with a small wash load on either the wool wash and Super
Rinse on Cottons and Synths.

Its not a weight sensor machine but when you have a full load in the pressure switch gets scammed when the drum turns in the rinses,(the wash load takes the water with it and thus the machine thinks its running low) so it adds more water.
Hope thats a good description for you.

With every tumble more and more water is added over the rinses 5 minutes.

Just before the last tumble into distribution the level is 1/3 up the door mebbe. When I have a full load I will get a pic.

The foam is created thanks to all that FS.

The rinse previous was clear. Luckily LOL

gr8 pics nick! Those models kick ass...reminds me of my old 9534 n 90s first edition washer/dryer i had briefly in my old flat! I also noted that when rinsing a full load the machines water levels fluptuate slightly...as they do on my logic...thats y i love pressure switches lol.

Rinsing Properly

Oh yeah Darren, cant fault using water when I look at the S****y water levels on Mums LG on cottons, its no wonder there are so many allergy medications on Pharmacy shelves.

Im convinced Mum has gone back to Ariel Bio which she hasnt touched since the reformulation back in '95 when Carol Vorderman was the face of Ariel. (I spied a bottle of Ariel Bio Liquid when I had a sneaky peek in the utility cupboard while claiming to get a glass of water LOL we all do that at peoples houses eh ?) and is giving everyone mushed up Piritons in meals. LOL

Its the only way she is getting use of it. Not that the 3 high levels in the LG on her Synthetics rinse well either, even when I desperately needed a work shirt one day she insisted it went in with her coloureds load and having to keep my mouth shut about the washer sometimes (due to the fact they dont support said hobby) It was washed in Ariel Sensitive tablets. itch itch itch.

Not long after Mum must have been in my room and picked up some washing and washed it in Daz liquid. same thing happened, im certainly not a genius but one does not understand why last week I was washing in Bio Ariel in the Hottie and yet nothing happened.
Something just aint right with LG's.

I noticed on the Hotpoint there's a coloured synthetics programme, why isn't there a white synthetics one? What programme does one use for white synthetics? I too am a heavy doser on FS, especially with me having my new Frigidaire front loader lol. What I find interesting is thee is more foam in your FS rinse water than with me. It's just the opposite. The FS cuts away any remaining foam I may have had in the next to last (FS) rinse. Again, congratulation on figuring out how to post pics. Bob

Hasten to add, Im never touching Ariel again.

The whites were no better than Persil if we want to argue about whichevers best (not aimed at you Darren), but Ariel is definitely the worst to rinse out.

No one can argue that. So Ariel can do their little 30*c bit and have us all waste water instead eh?

Something else is that Ariel really, do over do it in product packaging.

Take Liquitabs, do they really need to come in that tub which cannot be recycled? Persil has a nice easy to recycle cardboard box with a plastic bag which can be recycled at Supermarket carrier bag bins.

Ariel tabs dont need a foil wrapper, thats just a waste of 2 materials IMHO.

The Ariel detergent bottles have 3 plastic parts. Persil has 1.
The entire bottle, cap and ball are made of the same plastic and can therefore be recycled in the wheelie bin for such items far easily under local government regulations.
LOL.

Crewe and Nantwich Bourough Council have "vigilante's checking and if you put such a Liquitab carton in the silver rec bin you get done for it. Same goes for yoghurt pots, marge tubs etc.

The only plastic they allow are detergent bottles, shampoo, showergel containers and cleaning product bottles rinsed out.

So are PandG really saving the environment?

BTW im currently writing a letter to Lever asking why Comfort Pearls come in a foil bag, hopefully its something they will look at to ensure 100% of their packaging can be rec'd. that would be one over P&G.

Well as much as one would like the 60*c Synths like on most older machines I have to make do with washing both my white/light synts and colourfast synths on 50*c Coloured Synthetics. obviously i seperate

Noncolourfast Synths get the 40*c acrylics.

I dont wash all my coloureds on 40*c Non colourfast cottons like most Brits do. I like my clothes to last and stay in shape. thats reserved for Jeans and Socks etc etc.

Im a massive believer in following the care label.
However when it comes to pure cotton (i.e. no elastic of nylon content except white socks), white cotton Articles they get the full whack at 95*c which is the only way for dazzling whites. Even if the fibbing label says 40 like it does on most new 100% white cotton table cloths and white linen teatowels..... what is that all about?

There are no compromises to my whites. As any guest who stays always say when they use my bath towels.

Nick i used persil bio in my quartz today, with a medium sized load with the half load button pressed.

It still rinsed brilliantly. I decided to go back to persil because i cant be assed to faff around rerinsing and such as i have had to do when using P & G stuff. Though its nice to go back to every so often. I've only got today to get thru 5 loads so time is of the essence!

My neighbours must think strange things when they hear the deafenin sound of my quartz & logic on top speed lol.

Nick... nice machine! Reminds me so much of my nana's WM25 her's was a later version of yours, had 1000 spin and four buttons, and also said Aquarius De Luxe 1000 at the top with New Aquarius Wash System written where the Electronic 800 is. Nana's WM25 was far superior to the WM64 piece of tosh we had. The water levels weren't too high on nana's (but then her's did have the new aquarius system where yours doesnt, I think the new Aquarius system used 20 litres less or something), but still rinsed adequately. The final spin was quite good too and even though hers was 1000rpm it spun laundry better than our 1200rpm WM64.

Only thing I didn't like about the old Hotpoints was sometimes that the wash was too short, and often on heavily soiled loads I would wait until the wash was at the end, stop it as soon as it started draining and reset to do the wash cycle again. But on general laundry you couldn't beat the fast wash times of old Hotpoints.

Congratulations on the weight loss btw... I've lost a similar amount of weight - I was 15 stone 5 or 6 Christmas last year with a 38" waist, and now here I am 6 foot 2 and 12 stone 5, and even 34" jeans are too baggy on me!

Nick, yes you did answer my question. And similar scenario exists over here. Seems like all new sheets and towels, even if white, as well as undergarments, all say machine wash warm or even cold. Hot is NEVER mentioned. It's been a discussion of speculation here before. But I think textile manufacturers have a cheaper weave to their fabrics and isn't as sturdy as say 40 years ago as well as they are reducing liability if someone would "damage" the item by doing a hot wash.

You have not seen me before I have had my first morning Coffee is all I can answer to that!

This machine is the No.1 Best Machine ive ever had.

I have to say that even mums which was the last real Hottie produced (well one of them) it still did not have the proper motor noise but I was satisfied for a while because it had the real Hottie drum.

Rob, not too meticulous lately over his appearance. Not cleaned the drawer for 2 weeks. Just not had time too but it does keep clean generally.

The exterior pics show some muck I cant get at i.e. in the dial unless I get some kind of cocktail stick maybe.
Have a week off work this week so I may give him a good going over and maybe change the brushes. The poor fascia is scaratched heavily but not alot I can do about that.

As for the weight loss, ive never been one to eat rubbish so its not been a case of cutting it out like most people. I was always askin for extra veg (love each one although sweet potato is too sweet for me unless I "cut" it with plain mashed potato)as a kid. Once I upset mum by refusing my tea (was about 11 at the time) as she had done chips 3 nights in a row. My younger siblings will only eat junk given half the chance and Mum tended to cater to their tastes on week nights.

The weight was gained by eating meals at silly times when I was a chef. and a constant supply of coke, milky coffees and chocolate from waitresses who wanted to keep us chefs sweet LOL.

Losing it...... Cut out the carbs! but not fully. Now my stomach wont tolerate potatoes unless they are mashed thanks to me cutting them completely. I think its because the Carbohydrate is fully expanded if you know what I mean with the milk and butter. 2 small new poatatoes are enough to fill me and 3 bloat when I start to digest them.

Bread is not too bad, 2 slices of wholemeal toast fills me for hours.

I also believe in drinking plenty of water, when a hunger pang comes on before your due a meal drink a pint of water.
Its amazing how this works. I also have a pint of water with my meals and plate less up for myself.
Regular meal times are essential!

Oh did I mention I tend to walk everywhere? Great excersize.

Darren, good to hear your back on Persil! its the UK's No.1 because it works. who can argue with that.

hmmmmm Never found a major issue with heavy soiled laundry as Im very good about not getting mucky these days LOL

However when I was cheffing I did need to use a prewash (100ml) and 300ml of NB Persil Powder on a boil to get the whites clean in the Hottie.
Mums previous Hoover Quattro 1300 I managed to get away with 250ml but then the boil was around 2hrs 50 and that was with the "Light Wash" prog 1 used as a pre wash with 80ml.

What gets me is why I have perfect whites in a machine that was probably graded D for wash performance at the time. The standards have not slipped even with the move from my old Zanussi to Mums Lg and now to this.

This washes quicker than an regular 60*c A rated wash on 95*c. This is why I think the hotter the water in a quicker cycle is better than a longer cooler wash. Not excluding the sanitary purpose of said boil wash.

Good on you kiddo for the weight loss too, think you may have mentioned it in a phonecall previously, Its such a great feeling shifting it. I defo have bags more energy and confidence.

And lastly not forgetting Carl!

This dude will never die! While there are plenty of spare parts available which im starting to stock up on .... brushes, door seal next maybe even a motor/programmer.

This machine is with me for life. When Angela decides she can afford a new machine she has decided to give it to me. Bless! she sees the joy I get everytime I use it.

May not be a Liberator but under the hood it essentially is.

Although sadly I cant convince her a Miele is not too expensive for her considerin the rest of the rubbish out these days. Oh and Im banned from sayin the M word too LOL.
