I love it! It has a really great smell and not the perfumey, flowery smell.
Normally I use Boardwalk Huracan 40 (I'm still on my original 40-lb pail from back when I bought my front-load Kenmore last July). However, I may use Persil as well.
What really impressed me was its washing ability. I had mineral oil on my Dickies from a compressor changeout on a 10 ton Carrier R22 rooftop unit. It had removed all traces of it. Before, the Huracan 40 had removed most of it but there were still barely noticeable traces of it. I used Bulky/Bedding, hot water (well, at least by HE standards) and a Heavy wash setting (which extends the wash time about 15 minutes from Normal).
One pitfall is that Persil loves to create suds. I use about four tablespoons of Persil, however, two tablespoons was too much when I washed my pillows. Because the pillow acts as a giant sponge, the Persil foamed up with the air, water and tumbling action. I had to remove the pillows from the washer and rinsed them with a garden hose, and rewashed them with the Huracan 40.
I tried washing a mattress pad (waterproof/hypoallergenic soft top) with 1 tablespoon of Persil. Still, a LOT of suds. It should be noted that I've always washed the mattress pad and pillows with three tablespoons of Huracan 40 and two rinses; the Huracan 40 rinses well.
Overall, I'm impressed with Persil. I'm not going to switch to it but I will continue to buy it to "switch things up" from time to time. I just won't use it on heavy absorbers like pillows, cotton towels, mattress pads and such, since it is very easy to make suds in the machine, moreso than usual culprits such as liquid Tide and Gain.
