A very good friend of ours needs a counter top ice crusher for his summer home on Galveston. He wants to have the ability to make crushed ice drinks for the friends who come and visit in the summer. He said that he needs the ability to make about 10 drinks from each crushed batch of ice.

So far he has looked around and discovered the only difference between them has been how many watts of power they use.

He feels that he doesn't want or need a commercial model. He wants a countertop model. The refrigerator he has doesn't have a crushed ice feature. So he has plenty of ice on hand, but no way to crush the amount of ice he needs in one sitting.

I know nothing about ice crushers but told him that I am sure someone here knows about them and can probably offer their recommendations.

So what should he be looking for?

Waring Pro Ice Crusher

I've used the Waring Pro ice crusher for many years and find it to be very satisfactory. I use it 3-4 times a week and have had zero problems with it. It is plugged in to the same outlet as my refrigerator and located right to the side of it. Very convenient. I purchased mine at Beverages & More for $99 less 20% coupon I had.

I have the same ice crusher as philcobendixduo, and it works like a charm. It's very quiet and will crush batch after batch without overheating or stalling. I often use large amounts of crushed ice to surround bowls of salad at outdoor gatherings. And I like crushed ice in my cold drinks, as well. Highly recommended.
