My grandmother had a clothes dryer in her home which I believe was given to her by my aunt (her daughter) and uncle when they bought their first Maytag set.
The clothes dryer did not have a round control knob with the cycles printed on it. Instead it had a horizontal long thin display like that found on a mechanical FM radio tuner, with a needle indicator.
As you turned the set control the needle indicator would scroll horizontally behind the glass cycle window until you reached the cycle you wanted. You'd then you let go of the control knob. It had no start button, but would immediately start up when you started to turn the cycle control knob.
It did not have a pilot light, but instead had a electric glow coil to ignite the burner, which I seem to remember was on the upper right side under the top lid.
I am not sure but for some reason I think it may have been a Philco clothes dryer but am not at all positive.
Thanks All
