Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

The Manly Queen!

Something about this machine just screams rugged. Not sure if it is the faux wood paneling, the Stainless Steel drum, or the raised lettering in the panel. But the foot pedal is totally cool!

806 - say hello to your new neighbor

The Maytag pulls out all known tricks of intimidation. The Speed Queen isn't fooled by flashy, auto-start lights!

For those who have always wondered (as have I) if the Speed Queen door is the same size as a Maytag - now you have proof. They aren't.

If only...

There was a matching washer control panel out there in AW.org land. If so - drop me a line!

Not usually one to go ga-ga over a dryer - but for some reason, this Speed Queen has inspired me enough to wire up 220v for a dryer. We shall have lights tomorrow evening! It really is a pretty (manly) dryer.

WOW!!!

So glad that you nabbed this dryer! They are VERY easy to repair so you shouldn't have any trouble and I'm pretty sure you can still get parts. Can't wait to know that it's up and running like new. Really beautiful dryer!!! Mark

Good Choice!

Very nice - what is the model number? It looks to be about 1975-76 or so. This would be a reversing-motor washer, the TOL model had a 24 hr. soak timer and metered fill. I had the matching washer to your dryer 5 years ago. I found a lot of the washers around that time, but rarely dryers.

Congrats on a beautiful piece of steel!

very nice Ben,

Congrats on the SQ, that is a beauty!!!

PS: I know there's a matching washer out ther somewhere for you too!

Ben that is one beautiful dryer. So nice to finally see a Speed Queen with a console light!!YAY I know that in time you will find its mate. Terry
