And allergens are even harder to remove.

What I wonder: Do bacteria need to be removed or just killed to be counted as removed? Killing bacteria is surprisingly simple in comparison to actual removal of allergens or even bacteria them selfes.
Bacteria are life forms and sadly, life forms are pretty sensitive. Minor things can wipe them out with ease. UV-rays, temperature, "small" dosages of radiation and most chemicals kill them.
Allergenes however can't be killed. They need to be flushed away completly. And this is far more work then sanatizing.

they might do, but they were made in the states, and their states production ended.
Also the machines were too big for most houses (particularly those with laundry in the kitchen).
Finally there newest machines have a full 9Kg load inside with much higher washing agitation speed.

We'll just have to see :)

I'm personally hoping its a modern version of the classic Serie IQ machines (which were certainly ahead of their years) with the large LCD button screen, and 1800rpm.
 
Though they changed the programming for the 9kg models, the drum still is only 64l. Which is way to small for a day to day mixed load that actually weighs 9kg.

The 1800rpm thing was somehow outdated. Manufacturers found it caused to much wear, and was not worth the 2 extra percet over 1600rpm.
 
Smart phones and apps might be replacing the need for LCD interfaces in the future. I mean, LG washers already use NFC to choose extra cycles. But I'd love a nice large screen like the IQ Series... or current V-Zug.

Now, IFA is turning interesting.

First, I'm really curious what the new suspension looks like. The press release is useless about that, LOL.
Second, I hope they bring back the steam machines to Germany.
Third, before even fully launching TurboWash here, they already cut down the time by 10 minutes again.
Fourth, I'd be glad to see an overall update on the EcoHybrid washer dryers.

And, fivth, finaly, TwinWash. Not only am I really keen on seeing how this system will be set up for the EU (heater etc.), I'm interested in how this 100% new washer design will integrate on the market.
 
Not sure if the Twin Washer will come to Europe. People here seem resistant to anything but 24" washers; even pedestals are rare. Someone from the German forum ask LG about plans to bring the Twin Washer to Europe and they said there were none. Maybe a smaller version? We'll see...
 
Yea but... the release says that the Twin Washer makes it's "appearance" in Europe - nothing on whether it will be sold here. I've been to LG's booth before and several American appliances "appeared", yet never went on sale.

It would be interesting to see a larger-than-normal machine to go on sale here, especially after practically all other manufacturers failed.
 
Active Oxygen

Such a load of flannel.

You want oxygen in the wash, add hydrogen peroxide commonly found as sodium percarbonate or perborate. Even borax will add some oxygen to water.

All these extras to compensate if not cover up for the fact washing machines of today aren't a patch on those of old. They take longer in most cases to do washing and aren't of the same build quality.

What most want is a washing machine that is built to last and does the job properly without taking the better part of day.
 
When will I see

Some top-loading h-axis machines that don't seem like poor relatives of front loaders.
Dishwashers that iDos (It is too much to reach into the cupboard, throw in a pill, shut the flap and snap back up to standing upright)
Washer-Dryer units that can dry the full load.

Ah dreams.

Answer: You don't want to have that. And you won't. Ever wondered why dryer drums are about twice as large as washer durms? ;)

Finish sold a plasic container that had detergent for 12 washes I think. You just had to turn a knob IIRC and detergent was automaticly dispensed. However, this stuff was expensive AF and took up the space of about 4 cups.
Some commercial onces offer dosing systems.
For the houshold, one would have to wonder: A dosing system for tablets would be quite complicated and hard to fill up. Liquid detergents are rare, and most consumers wouldn't like to switch to powder.

And, if you search for an OK H-Axis TL: Go to Switzerland, and buy a V-Zug multi-housing machine. They have one of those.

And, laundress, its basicly the ozone system used in some commercial set-ups. Just in small scale. Its not about cleaning improvement, just hygenic cloth treatment.
