IFA 2022

There used to be a lot of easy to figure out news for IFA in previous years.

But this year, I keep drawing blanks.

BSH displays some renewed models for DWs - but nothing new technology wise.

Their laundry lineup has more models in the new mid-range design.
Also some overhauled fast wash options that sound somewhat like ELuxses TimeManager - but nothing to pin point.

Using my usual search tricks on Mieles manual library I don't find any new models for laundry or DW.

The biggest news I found are AEGs new washer lineup.

The new washers and dryers mostly have a reworked control panel - cycles are now to the left of the dial.
All options are in one row under the display.

The new series 7000 washer design with the new drum and the accompanying 69min Mix wash cycle seem to be the most exciting - and also the only resource I find regarding that since one German online retailer has listed one model with manual.

Has anybody seen anything?

Either they got way more careful not leaking anything - or there just isn't much new stuff.

Both Miele and BSH are a few years away from majorly overhauling any lineup.
The thing I keep expecting excitedly is an overhauled W/T1 lineup - I would love to see a heat pump washer dryer combo.

The User manual for the new LFR949 model doesn't seem to offer much of a difference in programming than the current models so more of a design refresh, apart from a scent that is added during the steam refresh that you buy direct from AEG.

The new design does look smart but was hoping for a new top of the line model like my L9FEA966 which has the multi toggle screen like an iPhone. Absolutely love the machine.

Overall believe things are as you say; Miele appliances are built for longer production cycles, thus may not have anything really new as W1/T1 are still young as it were.

Miele has been doing various tweaks and killing various bugs in both W1 and T1 rather than full refreshes it seems.

As Miele itself noted however they are having headwinds caused by consumers not using various Eco design functions already built into their appliances. No point in rushing out yet more along those lines unless Miele can sort out how to get people who buy the things to also use said functions. Otherwise why bother.

Bosch/Siemens ‘mini load’

It’ll be interesting to see how efficient the new “mini load” option is on the new Bosch/Siemens TOL lines. For cotton it estimates 31min upto 40c, 40min @50c and 53min above. Wonder if it’ll come close to Mieles SingleWash with PW 2.0.

Also looks like the new AEGS have shorter cotton cycles, for 60c it’s 2hr something, 1hr 59 and 50min. Have a feeling they’ll add time once sensed like many brands do now though e.g. Samsung/Beko.
