I could see this working very well:

However for long term viability an investment would need to be made on smaller OPL type commercial machines such as small motels or large restaurants use. This to increase throughput of laundry so more members could use the place in a day(more revenue per Square Meter of floor space) and reduce breakdowns with more robust machines. There should also be a "Heavy user rate" should some members begin taking in laundry as a second income. Nonetheless a neat idea that could work well with the right policies in place.

Great concept. WK78, made some good points. I can see how this could be abused. From the article I think he is in a nice little niche area. Maybe he wants to use the domestic machines to avoid code issues and coin-op business status? [this post was last edited: 2/15/2016-08:06]

It will be interesting to see how it unfolds.  The wifi equipped machines would be a blessing for anyone who has to use a laundromat or the laundry room in an apt building. I always hated leaving my stuff down there
