The time has come to find the illusive Maytag DE-806 dryer. I have been downsizing and currently have my faithful Whirlpool portable dryer in service. All the other dryers are gone. As much as I LOVE vintage machines, the reality of living on the 19th floor is becoming way too obvious. So everything is being trimmed down to 2 washers and one full size 220V dryer. So how about it? Any leads on a decent, white DE-806 dryer? Thanks in advance.

Louie, yes, if you're going to be pairing it with an A-806, a HOH dryer will be fine.  I can't speak for electric, but the DG-806 we had was the fastest, quietest, user-friendliest, all time best dryer I've ever owned.

Yes, HOH dryers were produced in both DE and DG 806 models, intended of course to be paired with the 806 washer, but fit fine with a 106 or anything in between.  Our DG 806 was paired with an HA 207 washer.  They were in the garage, so the mismatched colors didn't matter.

I was sharing my own experience with a gas model (blue panel) above.  I hope the electrics from that same period perform as well as our gas one did.

The experts will have to advise if the model numbers changed on the SOH/big door machines.   I think it's likely that DE 806 = HOH no matter what.

So I presume the dryer has to be located a significant distance from your Caloric, otherwise you could run a flexible supply line for a gas model fairly easily.

Thanks for the info Ralph!

The Whirlpool dryer is now located in the kitchen, near the window. I broke through the brick and cinder block exterior wall so I can have a direct vent to the outside (no more lint contraptions, YAY!).  The space by the Caloric (where the A-107 currently resides), is earmarked for the KDS-58. So no gas model dryer for me.

I see a DG806 on letgo that's not too far from you, just outside of Philly. The add says it needs a coil and doesn't heat. I'm having a hard time posting the link from letgo but all you have to do is type in vintage maytag and have your distance set to 10+ miles and it should come up

Believe me if it was a gas version I would have have scooped it up, he's only asking $25 for it. On top of that it's a five hour drive for me just to get there, all be it I would drive that just not this time.
