We are still using the Insinkerator classic supreme dishwasher that we bought in 1989. Over the past few months, the selector switch started to get a little balky and I would have to press and release the buttons a few times before it would start to cycle. Today it finally bit the dust and I couldn't get it to run. I checked online and a few local appliance parts dealers and cannot find another program selector switch (PN 51311). Any suggestions for locating one would greatly appreciated. The machine still does a great job cleaning the dishes and I would hate to toss it because I can't get a replacement switch. Thanks for your help...

Sticky Selector Switch

On a KA or ISE DW, often you can remove he old SW and spray silicone lubricant in it and it will loosen up and start working again.

If anyone owns a DW or other appliance with mechanical push-button selector switches it is always good to periodically exercise all the different push-buttons, otherwise they tend to get stuck over time, especially if you always use the same button every time you run the machine.

If this does not work I may have a good used SW for this model, let me know.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will give that a try. The buttons are more loose than stuck, so I was thinking the problem was from wear rather than getting gummed up. I will remove it and take a closer look. Thanks again for the reply. I will let you know if I can't get it working.

Get some numbers

These machines were Kitchenaid clones and as such should have the K/A part numbers on some of the parts. Check and see what numbers are stamped on the back of the button assembly. That will make matching up the parts easier. Like John mentioned, using only one button all the time could have caused a problem. Have you tried any of the other cycles?
Take a picture of the back of the switch and post it.
