Some reports from the Kitchen & Bath International Show:
Asko has a washer, model W6903F1, with a 2000 RPM spin for $1799. askousa.com

Miele has introduced a commercial quick cycle dishwasher for the home kitchen. It will wash a load in 15 minutes, but if you wash successive loads, it only takes 8 minutes since the water does not have to be heated. It lists for just under $5000.

Fagor is marketing dishwashers as well as ranges. fagoramerica.com

The Champion 4 by American Standard can get rid of 2.25 pounds per flush.

Fagor

Thanks for the info, Tom.

I had a peek at the Fagor appliances - does anyone know who makes these, or where? They are offering a washer and dryer as well as kitchen apps.

In the dishwashers, they refer to the spray arms as "sprinklers" and feature alternating sprays like Frigidaire, LG and others. Seems to be the only way to get any power out of a 1 1/2 cups of water in the sump...

Holy Cats! 2000 RPM Spin!?

Did we need a faster spin speed on that there Esko washer (or any other "turbocharged" machine)? *grins* How much faster do we want our stuff to turn anyway? *more grins*--Laundry Shark

asko laundry products

Yes the Asko washers do spin as fast as 2,000 R.P.M.s They also have the ability to become a complete laundry center. The show had the set up where the washer and dryer were set up directly next to a steam cabinet for the de-wrinkling of fine washables. They also have cabinet accessories to acomodate any type of laundry set up.
Neither Frigidaire(Electrolux),nor Whirlpool and their affilates were at the K.B.I.S.The only response I got from K.B.I.S associates was that those two were "too stuck up"to have any of their products on display. My opinion??I believe there is a major fera factor between those two rivals and L.G.and neither Electrolux of Sweeden(Frigidaire,Kelvinator,Gibson,Tappan,Okeefe and Merrit, and White Westinghouse) nor Whirlpool Corporation(Maytag,KitchenAid,JennAir,Roper,Sears Kenmore, and Inglis)wanted to have any part in the show because they're too far beyond and above anybody else.Yea,right, that's why the referbished models and scratch and dent they sell through Appliance Direct here in Florida are so super packed with Whirlpool and their affiliate's products.
