Increasing Water Levels in Miele w 3033

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Wall Color

Hey Malcolm. That Color ROCKS!!!!!

What is the brand and the name or number of the color?

Does the dryer have the same honeycomb tub as washer? Maybe that is why the load is drying fast. Better air flow than a dryer that just has the vent in back.

I have a large LG dryer about 4 years old. It is a nice dryer, but it takes long to dry especially towels. Iknow the load of towels is usally lage 10 or 12 plus wash cloths. I am wondering if the dryer vent ubing needs cleaning. or maybe just not hot enough. I have a service contract. AI think I will call.

So how many towels can you wash and dry in these machines?

Paint

The paint was purchased at Lowes. I think the brand is Valspar. I will check the color number when I get home.

The number of towels that I can wash in this machine is 4. But mine are the large bath sheets and they are thick and very heavy when wet. 4 was the most I could wash in the Speed Queen so that was one of my test loads in the showroom.

Wash-In

I never thought about hosting a wash in. Since I only have on hookup, I didn't think it would be worth it.

Manuals

Thanks for posting the link to the manuals, Andrew.

I wasn't aware that there was an option for load sensing and detergent dosing recommendation. Not sure I have a need or that, but cool nonetheless.

So Malcolm, I know it's off topic but are you eventually going to make accomodations for both sets eventually, or are you going to switch them out as desired?

Welcome

You are welcome. I enjoy reading up on the manuals from time to time.

I'm thinking I'll have to get the actual pedestals from Miele that you got - the pedestal I built, while very sturdy, still lets the washer vibrate a little bit :( I was pretty mad that I spent so much time and effort on it and it just can't stop the machine from vibrating. I may try and modify it one more way before I give up on it.

The $650 for pedestals is pretty steep though, I built my pedestal for $150 in supplies.

Pedestals

I was going to skip the pedestals myself until I learned that they locked together. It adds to the stability. The drawers are nice too, but don't get to thinking you are gonna store much in them.

Load Count

I did about 9 loads this weekend. Several of them were done in 'PROFILE' mode aka COLD FILL. The most impressive load was the car washing towels. Cleaned 'em right up. I have about 60 microfiber squares that I would use for cleaning the car. Everytime I needed to wax, I would buy a fresh package. Some have gotten thrown away but I had a bucket full of dirty ones in the garage.

So far, I am very impressed with cleaning results.

Malcolm. Very happy to hear this.
So when you use the cold fill, the machine heats to water to the cycle you selected.

So....you like the results better than the Speed Queens?

I have an AEG which I bought in 1991. Did not use much because the tub is very small. This machine is the AEG Bella Super. It also has a boil wash on it.

I have it disconnected now, but plan on re-connecting.

Have some problems with the LG, as it is almost 8 or 9 years old.

I think I may want to get the same Miele as you have.

Why did you choose the W 3033 over the 4842 which is larger?

Water Heating

Yeah the water heats from cold to whatever temp selected. Honestly, I don't think it added much more than 15 minutes to the program, but I wasn't really timing it.

I still believe that the 30XX series is more flexible and better built than the 48XX machines. Plus the 48XX machines have been discontinued.

Malcolm.
Thanks for all the information. Now I just have to figuer out when I can buyhe machine. lol

Have you used most of the cycles? I bet the whites came out nice too.

Cycles

I have used quite a few of the programs, but have several yet to try out. The washer is very impressive. Tonight, I washed a load of throw rugs. Used the Custom program. These rugs are not rubber backed and can take a long time to dry. However, they completed drying in just over 45 minutes. I thought surly the dryer is stopping prematurely, but surprise. The rugs were dry.
