Thanks for the confirmation, Matt, I've not seen the divided cooktop from Corning. We visited relatives in North Dakota way back in the 70's and they had just built a house with a new Corning smooth top range. She demo'd it for my mother (and myself, far more interested) with the cookware and I remember it took forever to boil a few cups of water. They had literally just moved into the house a few weeks before and she was trying to get the dealer to take it back and bring a coil element range in it's place, she hated that Corning.
