Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

non-iron

was only a short spin-drain, cause the L5-8 had the selfcleaning pump.
L6 model instead was a common separate drain pump

K5 ... and a late answer about compact Candy

Paul, in my childhood I don't remember having seen an older indesit than the K5, so I guess it's indeed one of the earliest Indesit.

In a old thread you asked info about an early Candy Aquamatic with a strange door that seems opening downwards. As you were answered the door has a built-in detergent dispenser.
Anyway the Aquamatics have an ancestor with a downwards door : the MISURA. It was an agitator front loader with a square tub and a square door without glass.
You can watch it in the Candy Time Machine (year 1966, slide 3)

RIBER

Ciao Diomede,
do you know any info about RIBER ?? It was another Turinese producer (Beinasco ?) .
I remember in late seventies they developed a ozone-based washer that could wash with warm or even cold water.
They spent all their money in research and the plant was closed. Maybe times were too early for such a thing ...

RIBER

It was RIccardo BERtolino the foundator of RIBER, a very famouse brand in Sixties Italian washing machine market among the Zoppas, Castor, Singer, CGE and other far disappered brands.

Don't know much more about it other than it was in financial trouble in end seventies after have came up in market just with that strange (I suppose very very dangerous too!) system of bleaching you said which consisted in an electrolitic unit in which you put simple kitchne salt (sodium chlorate)to get the chlorine!!

I think it was involved in Indesit family but they either were ending to be involved in Merloni's pot!

CIAO!

Hajdu

Some of my relations are from Hungary. I remember staying with them and they had this very old Hajdu washing machine.

To look at it, you would of thought it was a Indesit L5 machine, and if I remember it did the spin drain. The dials and switches were the same as the Indesit machines.

All I know that it was very old, but still going strong.

Wonder if Indesit made the machines for Hajdu.

Regards

Paul

Paul i believe they did, some chap on youtube had videos that said it was a hajdu "made under licence by indesit".

I love spin draining. Has to be the most entertaining thing to watch!!

Indersit L10

Hi Darren & Guys

Does anyone remember the Indesit L10 model. I think it had a brown facia, I know it had a 800rpm.

I know it had a metal door as well.

I think the old Indesit L series where good machines, but the spin on them was terrible.
