Indesit Moon - wonderful performance!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

The thing i have to wonder, with no window, how are engineers suppost to SEE if the machine is functioning properly? How will they be able diagonose tumbling, spinning, water levels, faults etc. All gone. i dont like that idea at all.

Darren

The detergent dispenser on a Hotpoint Slimline TL is more or less the same as the Moon. It's mounted on the lid and similarly, an engineer can't see what is going on. I can't imagine they haven't thought of these things in advance! This machine might not appeal to purists but it has a definate place in the market. Let's face it, the majority of the public are not as 'concerned' about laundry as we are!

Well, they're disposable, why would you need an engineer?
If it goes wrong you just get a new one!

To Hoovermatic...

Regarding the "Moon"... HOw is the performence rating? I have grave doubts about it.... If the performance on my BOL Indesit which is 3 months old ( and now showing signs on wear and tear.... noisier, not always making up to speed on spin and even on longest cottons -programmes... poor results.)
You can understand my indifference to the new product if they can't even get their basics right. Oh, by the way, it rinses twice only..... spins to 800 immediately on cottons, synthetices, delicates and wool programmes after wash, and rinse!!!! What is that all about!!!!
Peter

According to Comet, it's wash grade A, energy efficiency A and spin grade B. The more I hear about it the more it seems they need to go back to the drawing board! I still think the concept is a good one - they have executed it badly.

Indesit Moon...

If that is their best effort.... no... simple as that.
Like I said... if their standard is extremely poor, then how, with less programmes can they launch something as TOL? HAve they finally done their homework....???
And also how can Which? give Zanussi a 1* for rinsing??? They havent seen a BOL Indesit rinsing with a 3/4 load of cottons!!!! More of a white scene on final rinse than Andorra in January!!!!
I will never be impressed with Indesit, unless they prove us all wrong!

Peter

Hoovermatic!!!

Back to the Drawing Board!!!!! I cannot believe some of these designers with their degrees get paid huge amounts of money to design their programmes and machines when we collectively have the knowledge that a degree could not give!!!! (Experience)

Peter

I agree entirely with what you are saying! There has been 40+ years of FL washer experience to draw on in the UK alone and this is the best they can do? That aside, I believe the concept is a good one.

Simplistic?

I need to try and find the manual for the moon online... anyone know where it is?
Peter

I remember when...

Indesit machines had the control panel on the top of the machine and they had 2 rocker switches.... one for wash intensity and one for spin intensity... (400rpm though!!!)
Pity there are no pics of these machines or better manuals online!

Everything comes to those who wait!

Hi Funguy10,
I will post the link to the Dyson videos when I do them, I'm very busy with work at this time.

Not everyone can do videos at "the drop of a hat". It takes quite some time to video machines and to upload them onto the internet (you tube etc). It took me a good few hours to do my speed queen videos as they took quite a while to upload onto you tube. You have to be "around" when they are uploading and keep going back to the pc so its not a simple task.

David will do the videos when he has a decent amount of spare time.

THanks David..

It looks pretty easy but would like to hear from peeps who have one.... As said before, I have a BOL (2 rinses) Indesit... I have to set a second rinse and spin cycle so would love to hear if Indesit have done anything about it!

nothing else I can say...

The BOL has issues and the TOL has similar.
this brand is just not worth the time and effort!
I've said this before but how a machine can rely on 2 rinses (BOL and even mid range expects you to select extra rinse ) to do the job is beyond me. Rinsing ability is diabolical on the Indesit I have and every wash needs to have an additional separate rinse and spin to get decent results. Add another 30 minutes to all wash programmes which is again not acceptable in my opinion....

Funguy..

What was the point of your post?
We all make mistakes....
Positive input is always appreciated on here

After reading your previous messages, i think you need to calm down a bit. People on here do things in their own time and you should be appreciative of anyones efforts to provide info on here. I have not seen any input from you apart from hassling people.

With respect
Peter
