Indesit Moon ???

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Non see through door? Whatever is going on? Im sure some models must have a see through door. Interesting looking there seems to be no detergent dispenser I wonder if it will have an Extendia style dispenser? I also wonder if it will have a pop out stule control panel like the Dialogic model did?

Indesit has never really taken off in Australia though Ariston is very popular.

Indesit Moon

Do you think it's made of green cheese? lol

"Indesit Moon" sounds similar to the "Indigo Moon" range of clothing on QVC shopping channel.

Just found a link from the Indesit Website,

got loads of info on it!!

Seems a bit odd to me! No 90oC prog... no options (i.e prewash, short, etc) ?!?!?!

This is my idea of washing machine hell. I like having plenty of programmes and options at my disposal, and actually use them all regularly, so something like this would frustrate me no end. The obscured door is a bit of a letdown, although I do like the unusual dispenser arrangement. The website mentions a "constant flow of water" through the dispenser compartments, so presumably there are recirculation or intake jets at the top of the door seal?

I do, however, reckon this concept will prove to be popular amongst "normal" people. Many folks complain that the average washing machine has far more cycles than they will ever use, and readily admit to only using the 40 C and perhaps 60 C programmes. As long as the clothes come out damp, reasonably clean and smelling of fabric softener, the job is considered done and few people will complain. Can't see this being an expensive machine either, and that helps too.

Great website!

I enjoyed the web presentation of this machine.

I think it is quite interesting. I like the disarmingly simple styling of this machine and the simple programs. I know many people do feel overawed by complex controls and there is something charming about a nice simple front loader, like the Hoover Zodiac front loaders that were sold in Australia.

The solid non see through door however is a complete turn off. I do think that even "normal" people like to have the visual aspect of a clear door. Even in a top loader with a lid switch, many people still "check" that everything is alright.

Hi Kirk its been a long time since you posted.

Arrrooohhh!

Good to see you here too, always nice to catch up with the Aussie boys :o). It's not often I post, only when something catches my eye, but am usually lurking in the background nonetheless.

I remember during the mid to late 90s, when machines with electronic controls and numerous settings really started to take off, while those with just a basic timer and a couple of option buttons rapidly disappeared. Perhaps simplicity is going to be the next "new" idea once again, and Indesit are getting in there first. Right now this machine is pretty unique, unless other manufacturers decide to follow suit and bring out their own versions in future.

Having used a Maytag Neptune, and also top loaders on occasion, I used to open them up fairly regularly in the beginning to check how things were doing. Eventually shook off that habit and just left the machine to do its thing, and everything still came out fine. Having a window means I sometimes obsess over seeing suds in the rinse water, causing me to stand by and keep watch... but you can't beat being able to see what's going on inside, if only for entertainment!

Cheers,

Kirk

Indesit Moon promo...

I don't know who they got to narrate that material, but the person's grasp of plain English leaves much to be desired. What's wrong with employing actors from the country the machine is supposed to be sold in?

I don't think that machine will be popular with consumers.

I wonder if, due to the lack of programmes, it will be sold as the bottom of the line?

Just been introduced

what an awful machine! it seems to be a common thing now for different washing manchine manufacturers to try and break new ground with their new washers, but this one really takes the mick!

the dispenser on the door? really - and you cant even see whats going on, i reckon it'll flop personally, what does everyone else think?

Flop Indeed!!

Somehow I cant see it being a bit hit at all!! For me it would be like hell having one lol!! 1) Big Lack of Programs 2) No 95*c Wash 3) You Cant even see inside the washer drum!! Seems to be a washer that spells out disaster to me lol

I'd rather not have a Washing Machine than purchace something like that lol!

"Come on Indesit, You can do better than that!! ( I think )" :P hehe

This would definetly be my sister's dream washing machine... Luckily, I'm the one who does her laundry, even though she's a junior in college... lol, It'll be done right, at least for a little while longer!

No doubt this machine will appeal to types who think they are trendy and cutting edge but "think" that they are so busy the couldn't possibly spend time to do laundry properly! (we all know that it doesn't require much effort to do laundry as once you are in the habit of sorting and loading properly not much thought it required).

It would have much more appeal if it had a window, and surely 5 cycle buttons (90*cottons 60* 40* 40*synthetic and 30*gentle) would be complicating things that much.
